Look this game rocks !! Its so good my grandma plays it more than me and its only because she has more free time on her hands than I do. I have not played the newer version but this game is very awesome ! Nothing like trading a few players and making your old favorite team. Mine the old Knicks. pg- derick harper, sg - john starks, sf - anthony mason, pf- charles oakley, c - patrick ewing .. again this game is awesom ..i have had so many games for the dreamcast and this is one of the few i have never gotten ride of and i never will. Besides grandma would be very upset. If NBA2k2 is better than this than i have got to get my hands on it because this game is the king of all basketball games... how the dreamcast went down is beyond me ? if you want to play basketball dont be fooled with all the hype.. ihave been playing videogames since atari 2600 and when i say the atari basketball was crap you better believe it .. sega dreamcast sports is where its at !!! GET THIS GAME PLAY THIS GAME AND USE THE JEWEL CASE AS A PLATE !! ITS THAT GOOD !!

I bought this game without ever playing it. In fact, I bought it without ever playing a basketbal game period. Unless you count Basketball for the Atari 2600.
Anyway, I heard so much good stuff about it, I figured for $10 it was worth a shot.

Summary:
This game is the most awesome basketball game I've ever played. I can't even believe how awesome it is. I can't tell you how many hours me and my friends have played this into the early hours of the morning. The create a player and create a team features are the most fun. If you don't have this game, I suggest that you get either NBA2k2, or, if your low on dough, get this one after NBA2k2 comes out.

This game is simply the best hoops game ever! having played NBA live since 96, i was really looking for a new alternative as EA seem to be content in making minor adjustments and updated rosters as the years went by...
then comes VC to take us all by storm with a 360s windmill dunk... and the game is a perfect 50!
