Summary:
Here we have a game that a lot of people are going to hate, and for all the wrong reasons. The people who dont hate it will be in a similar category to me, and will remember happily feeding this game 20c pieces when it was a coin-op sitting in a bar somewhere.

The main reason that this game will only appeal to a select audience is the age factor: ten years ago (maybe less, maybe more, I cant remember) this was a top game. Ghouls'n'Ghosts was it. Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts for GBA is pretty much a direct lift of that old coin-op arcader and nothing much has changed: this is more a re-release of an old game than a new installment, if you follow my drift.

This game shows what might've happened if the recent release of "spyhunter" was top-down and linear (like the original) instead of revamped for a new audience: a whole bunch of people (who remember playing the original) would have jumped up and down saying "yes!", and a lot of "new generation" gamers would've taken one look and gone "I dont dig it at all".

That said, Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts is a faithful recreation if ever there was one, and it ports spectacularly to the GBA.

Summary:
For people who grew up on these games, this is a dream come true. Being that this game is old school, it is very hard. Games are definately not made like this anymore. A bonus to this game is the inclusion of some of the levels from the Genesis version of Ghouls n Ghosts (for those who do not know, this is an SNES game). Now if only SEGA would start porting over their Genesis classics...
