Majesco F-14 Tomcat Gameboy Advance Simulation Review

Majesco F-14 Tomcat

Description
F-14 Tomcat for the Game Boy Advance puts you in the cockpit of the Navy’s premiere fighter aircraft, the F-14 Tomcat. Armed with an array of Air-Inceptor missiles, and a 20mm cannon capable of firing up to 200 rounds of deadly ammunition per second, you fly a series of blue water operations while engaging in head-to-head combat with MIG 29’s MIG 24’s and enemy transport cargo aircraft.

Summary:
Here is my impression on this game. I thougt that it might be interesting to read me because I do fly a plane for real, a lightweight plane for 2 people that flies pretty good ! Its average speed is 90 miles/hour and it can cover 600 miles when it has fully been refueled.
The game is nice. I enjoy to play on it but folks, please forget trying to compare a real plane and a simulation on GBA ! This is the only way to enjoy the game. Let's be realistic, for instance, let's talk about the microsoft fly simulations. I invite you to play on it again, again, again again. For hours, for months. Become a virtual ace. An expert. And ... if you jump in a real plane afterward ... you will beautifully crash the first time, the second time, the third time etc ... What I want to explain, is the fact that a flight simulation might give very interesting explanations about the readings on the control panel and so on, but flying for real is a whole other story !
Enjoy this game. Maybe one of you will become a pilot for real. this might be a start. Greetings from Belgium.

Summary:
The game is all right I think that it is one of the best flight games on GBA but there are some problems. The missions are really easy, The enemies are really dumb, and it is stupid when you have to fight the ships on the water. You have to shoot them with you machine gun. It would be better if you could just shoot a missle at them.

Summary:
If you're into flight sims and you want to play something on the move with your new gba, DO NOT get this game. I was sadly dissapointed in the whole game. I might be giving it a harsh rating, but this is more like a 16 bit game rather than a 32.

Summary:
I love this game. Perhaps I have lower expectations than the below reviewers, but I thought this game was great. Sometimes it does recquire you to use your imagination, but I am fine with that. It does not really seem like you are flying sometimes, and reminds me of a submarine game I played on my old Apple II...

Summary:
At first you will be overwhelmed by the tomcat's cockpit display. Dont give up it becomes second nature eventually.Die hard fligh sim fans may be disapointed, but for the rest this is a great pick up and play game. Multi-player is included also. A more accurate review would be:

Out of 10

Graphics 8
Sound 7.5
Control 7.5
Gameplay 6.5
Replay V. 6.5
Overall 7.5 Not an Average

Also keep in mind that it is extremely difficult and unlikely to have a flight sim on the gba that would receive a rating over an 8. Tomcat is an eceptional flight sim on the gba.

Aerial Aces also by majesco is around the corner for release.

Also majesco has announced an F-18 flight sim also for the gba due out in the future.
