Description
Have no fear, they've taken the alien's arsenal up a notch! You now have seven power-up weapons, which also upgrade your grenades. There is also a charge shot so you can hold down your button and unleash a giant ball of destruction. You can dig into the ground for defensive measures, then reach up and pull your enemies under.

Summary:
Old School gaming at its finest hour!! The cell-shaded graphics really gives the 2-D Side scrolling genre a face lift and a adrenaline boost to the heart of a genre that has been left for dead by 3-d gamers and games alike. Too bad because 2-d games lives on and just like the old school Contra games it’s a one hit and your dead deal. Hard to the core, but not to hard ( especially if you have a memory card to start off on the levels you died on. But for gamers who don’t like there games challenging, this game is not for you at all.
The levels on Alien Hominid are split up into 1-1, 2-1 3-1 and so forth in a Mario-type style. The action is fast and quick and it constantly keeps you on your toes with the FBI guys always appearing from out of no where to stop you in your tracks. Bosses are pretty tough as well (especially intil you get there patterns down pat ) The controls of A.H are pretty good basic jump duck run and attack moves along with weapons. The Weapons that ou receive during your missions include a spread gun (three way) red saber(2 way gun as I like to call it ) blue ice gun Flame thrower and the The yellow spirit ball gun. Each weapon that your receive in the game can be charged up by holding down the attack button for 3 to 5 seconds. You also have grenades which are pretty effective. The Music in this game really soars at times.(Check out the space flying stages) And then there are other times where its just there (the music). Some of the levels that really stick out for this Newgrounds game include 2-2 ( where you free the SnowBeast and it helps you as it devours foes!!) the Spaceship dog fight levels and any of the Area 51 levels that are pretty creative. Sadly the game is good but could have been better (more levels better music) but these are only minor complaints for a 2d-shooter side scrolling game that’s living in a age of a dying breed. Don’t let this one slip under your radar!
