Summary:
This game has been underated as far as im concern. It may be linear, but its challenging to the very end. Im an RPG fan and although this is more of an adventure game, it still has plenty of RPG elements in it. The fighting system is superb and plays a big role in the game and it also makes for great strategy. If u are into different things u will love this, this game is a great start for the gamecube in the RPG genre.

Summary:
Unfortunately, there have been select few good RPG games on the best system in the world, GCN...until now. In this game, you take on the role of the Princess Katia. At the beggining, you recieve news that a thick, abnormal black fog is hurtling at an intense rate toward the castle, and that your father, the king, has led an army into battle to fight the odd force of black magic. You soon recognize the fact that the fog can be defeated only by the power of all the Runestones united, with one Runestone per kingdom. Not knowing what to do, you are left with the only choice of finding your kingdom's Runestone and see what you can do with it. You soon come across the Runestone, while you are being secretly watched by...a skeleton duo! You will gain your first deck of cards, and recieve instructions on how to use them. After the battle, your journey has still just begun...
When you meet the old crone, Gurd, she will tell you that your father has run to warn the other kings about a terrible force his army met on the Bernden Field to the east. Gurd will now train you in the Rowahl Plains, and then give you acess to the Apothecary, the store Gurd owns, and the first actual level, Blesson. After that, you can acess the first big and terrible place with a large boss, the Burial Grounds. Now you will make the final stretch to Kingdom 2, Grayl, through the unfriendly, forbidden sewer, the Shayel Passage. When you arrive at the castle, you realize there has been mass murder, and all the knights are saying something about a she-devil. The boss here is your first battle against a fellow duelist. After your battle, you will earn your second Runestone of five.
On your quest for the Runestones, you will now have to cross the immense maze of a bridge, the Bridge of Sarvan, which leads to the Kendarie Castle, only to find that their Runestone has been stolen by a figure in a cloak. You will now visit the Yrpek Mines. The boss turns out to be nothing but the Gaurdian of the Third Runestone, the cloaked figure, who is not a human at all! Destroy the Puppet Master Boss to earn your third Runestone.
Gurd will tell you about how your father's only other possible location is the Whyt Castle, which is, unfortunately, only accesible by crossing the Bernden Field, where the dark force was first sighted. All you can do for now is hope to God both your father and you will have the good fortune of not running into the force. As you make your way across the field, you will run into a large dragon corpse, which a Lich will raise from the dead (hint: if you kill the Lich, the dragon will automatically die)It just so happens that this would not be the force. Further across the field, you find your father...sword drawn, ready to fight nothing else but a giant Beelzebub Bee! Your father is struck to the ground, helpless, while you fight the force you have finally discovered(?) Your father dies after the fight. Sorry, no Runestone for this one.
Hopefully by now you have a good feel for the game, so I think I'll leave off here. Hope this made you want to own this game.

Summary:
I rented this game and was glad I did. It was terrible. Maybe there was some point I was missing, but the game was nothing that I expected. I love video games and collectable card games, so I thought I would love this. I was wrong.

Summary:
People who thought this game was a waste of time to play, how wrong you were! Being the first Rpg to come out in North America for GameCube was a very nice start. I found Lost Kingdoms satisfied my Rpg hunger like the Nintendo 64 could not. The only bad thing about the game is the loading times and the total play time, the loading times are not that long at all, but when you want to get right to the action they can discourage you. The game could have been longer also, the first time i played through it i beat it in 5 hours, but i couldn't beat it so i started over to build my cards exp up and i found the 4 special card side stories and that put an extra 3 hours onto my play time.
