Nintendo Paper Mario-The Thousand Year Door Gamecube Roleplaying Review

Nintendo Paper Mario-The Thousand Year Door

Description
Time passes, the pages turn...and a new chapter unfolds in an unfamiliar land! Get ready for a two-dimensional role-playing adventure for the ages as Mario returns to paper form in pursuit of a threat unlike any he's ever faced.

This time around, more emphasis is placed on the paper abilities of Mario and his friends. He can turn sideways to slip through cracks, fold into a paper airplane to fly, roll into a tube, and much more. He can also use tons of items like hammers and thunderbolts.

Summary:
As Nintendo's posterboy, Mario always gets stuck with a lot to do. He's the most liked character Nintendo has ever produced, and he's also the biggest momeymaker Nintendo has ever produced. With the Gamecube lagging behind XBox and PlayStation 2 in, well, pretty much every aspect of gaming, Nintendo's hopes of staying in the game are partly on Mario's shoulders. Super Mario 64 was a smash hit, and the same response to Paper Mario: The Thousand Year certainly wouldn't hurt them. Luckily, Mario's still in shape in this entry. Paper Mario: TYD is a refreshing throwback game that brings a whole lot of classic goodness to the Gamecube.
