$0.00 Summary: All in all, this is probably the game in the Battletech annals that most closely resembles the novels that created this universe.
Unlike the latest incarnations of the series (MW3, MW4, etc.) you are not burdened with a plot so imbecillic that a second-rate porno director could have hashed it together. Instead, you're provided ambience, political news via an in-game source, and a ton of options. Fight for who you want, or fight for no one. Follow the "main" campaign, or follow nothing at all - it's your call.
Unlike MW4 Mercenaries, which merely pretends to be a "merc" game, but instead saddles you with... shall we say, "scripted choices", this game truly shone in it's depth and breadth. You didn't have to be a good guy if you wanted to. You could pirate, in a few missions, and do "less than legal" things with no trouble at all.
Overall, I'd reccommend this game for the most "true to life" (as if this was real, eh?) rendition of Battletech. It really succeeds in drawing you into the battletech universe, and provides a much grimmer picture of the future than many sci-fi games do. Report this review >>
