Summary: Besides Quake 2, this is my favorite computer FPS game. It's pretty cheesy the way the monsters blow up with a bunch of chunks of them flying everywhere with blood gushing out all over the place, but I like it. Ha ha, nice job on that one. This game is also very addicting. Once I spent like 5 hours trying to get past the Elder God Shrine level on Hard mode. The secrets are extremely fun to find, too. I've found almost every one in the first world, including the Nightmare difficulty. I know some of you are dying to find out how to find it, so I'll tell you. When you're choosing the difficulty portal, go into any one, then go into the 4th world. When you fall into the floating pool of water, backpedal. You should land on a wooden plank. Then, turn left, and walk forward. Then go right, and into the hallway. Keep going forward in it untill you get to the portal, but beware! I've never even got past the first level in it!
Here's how you get to the secret level of the 1st world: (it's in level 4)
Keep going through the level until you get to the room with 5 pressure plates on the floor with the Quake icon. Step on them all, and holes will appear in the wall. Before jumping in each one, bounce a couple of grenades in there, cause the are ogres in there. when you kill them, jump into each one and press the button. It should say that a secret cave has opened. Then go backwards into the level until you get to the huge room with a dock that has a bunch of water in it. jump in the water, and swim around until you see a hole. It should be to the left of the dock. go inside and into the portal, and voila! You just found the secret level of the first world, Ziggurat Vertigo!
Summary: I bought this game in an old worn out box at the flea market last week.I just now had the chance to play it,and I love it.I had friends through the years that tried to get me to play this game, but I was/am hooked on racing sims. It's the best friggin 5 bucks I have ever spent...
Summary: The first Quake game to hit sote shelves finds its self as a revolutionary title, When I first got this game, which must of been 1996, I went berserk, I was really hokked on this game from the start and I still play it now. You can find this game at some stors like ebworld, or any other videogame store for about $5 to 10$ You have to pick up this game this game was the game that helped inspire the newer first-person games as we know them.
Heres a little story, when day me and my friends wanted to get a lan party, we used one of my friend's basment, we got 6 people, and we were hooked up, for one mind blowing Lan party that almost lasted 26 hours, we were full with chips, and cheese, and French Onion, chips, we took turns going to the local gas station to get chips and and whole lot velvetta cheese dip. The aaftermath was not pretty chip crumbs left all over the place, chesse was all over the table, which had all the food on it. Playing Quake like this was unforgettable, and if one is wondering what happened at our Quake 2 LAN Party the aftermath was uglier, boy was it uglier.

Summary: Quake multiplayer is legendary. This game broke more new ground than any other game in history. That's coming from a gamer who started playing games in 1977. Native TCP-ip, dedicated servers, capture the flag, Team Play and much much more. The whole clan scene started on quake. If you haven't played Quake 1 multiplayer, then you haven't played Quake 1 in its best form. Incidently, Quake 1 fueled the 3d graphics card revolution (voodoo 1 card) at a critical time in history with with GL Quake. Before Quake 1 there were no viable consumer 3d cards. This game became far more than the designers ever realized. There is a fanatic & loyal fanbase to this game and deservedly so. In the most important ways (internet gameplay), Quake 1 is timeless.
Man, this is one of the best FPS games on the whole frickin planet. Yea, sure its old, but really fun and kinda scary funny. Made by the best company in the world ID Software. 2nd best: Activision. Man, oh man I cant wait for Quake 4.
If you consider yourself a gamer and have not played or do not own Quake, i pity you.
Play it. Like it. Love it. Its one of the best FPS games of all time.
Thanks to 3 brilliant games: Wolfenstein, Doom and Quake we have a ton of FPS games following.
All by my favorite comany ID, god bless em.
to me, these are the best games ever created. Nothing can surpass blowing away, Nazis, imps or fiends. Pure simplicity, pure fun.
