, from San Jose, CASummary: I have to first admit that Duke Nukem was one of my favorite games ever. It is one of the few FPS games I have liked. I didn't like another one nearly as much until No One Lives Forever.
True by today's standards the graphics are not that good , and the sound is subpar, but I'd still be playing it over almost any FPS out there if I could get it to run on my computer. I can get it to run without sound, but for me it loses too much without sound. A silent guy blasting people with silent weapons, I just can't play it. :( The game is just plain fun and very enjoyable.
I got a package of Duke Nukem 3D, 1500 User Created Levels, and another Duke Expansion in a sigle pack for about $20. Wizard Works is not the best programming company in the world, the expansion didn't work. I called them and was lied to that a patch was in the works, but the second time I called they agreed to exchange games. That's how I got Duke in D.C.
I think the installer for this program was written by a drugged up monkey or something and they were to cheap to patch it (the Plutonium Pack from 3D Realms has a glitch in the installer too, but they have a fix for it). Basically it was hit or miss if I could install the DC level or not. When it did work, I just created a whole seperate installation of the game for when I didn't want to play the DC levels.
