, from Sheffield England Summary: I'd been wanting to get a good sports game for a while since I got my brand spanking new computer and my cool Sidewinder gamepad. I preferably wanted to get a football game so when I got a demo of World Cup 98 I played it to death, I couldn't believe how good it was, I still don't think that I have ever played a better sports game in the whole of my life, it's that good. There are so many little things that you can do in the game. The entire team lists can be changed and you can tweak each individual player (I personally make Michael Owen an absolute skill master which he is, obviously). There are so many different tricks that you can do in the game that would even put that bald bucktoothed wonder Ronaldo to shame. Overhead flicks, dummying, rolling the ball to the side, lifting the ball over a sliding player, it can sometimes get too much. The graphics are pretty decent, if you have a 3Dfx card then you will be in constant ecstasy as you recognize every player on the pitch. If you don't have a 3Dfx card then the graphics have a very strange effect on them that makes them look a bit dodgy. There's only 2 things that you need for this game, and that is a love of football and a Microsoft Sidewinder pad. This pad is a game players dream, all the moves have been specially mapped by the people from EA to make the controls as intuitive as possible it makes the experience much better. The excitement when you see Michael Owen (or whoever your favorite national striker is) breaking through the defence and then dummying the computer to blast into the back of the net is almost as good as when you see it in real life. Awesome
