Summary:
You play the role of a young leutenant, charged by his superiors with the responsability to protect and develop a small system which has been ravaged through constant war and pirate attacks.

The game was excellent and addictive. I spent many hours on this game and would like to warn everyone out there: if you have lots of work to do, try not to get to involved in this game!

As you progress, it becomes increasingly difficult, but increasingly rewarding as well...

I actually have finished this game, once on the "normal" setting (there is no "easy"!!) and am playing it again on the "hard" settings. Game play changes slightly with the hard settings in place. It becomes harder.lol.

In short, a great game and must try! It can cater for the casual player or the person with loads of time on their hands. Addictive.

Summary:
My friends, I must defend this game. First of all this is a game that gets more and more interesting as you play because you get more abilities. You really don't get the full experience until get to Admiral. Second, it is not just "who has the most tanks or ships" you have to equip your ships and use strategy in the real-time battles. I use the same strategies I use in Sierra's Homeworld and I beat it easily.
I think those who have trouble with this either just didn't get wery far or have not combat abilities.

Summary:
Let's get the good news out of the way first. Imperium Galactica has without a doubt some of the slickest artwork and interfaces in the space strategy genre. As a newly assigned lieutenant, your job is to restore order to a system that has been under attack and left severely crippled. Your choices are given to you from a simulated starship bridge that interfaces you to the solar system as well as the surface of the planets you have been assigned to manage. It also brings you messages from various sources through the use of a sort of audio/video conferencing system.

The trick here is to "manage" your new colonies to such an extent that you receive maximum output while still managing to keep the morale of your colonists up. As you rebuild the colonies you receive certain perks such as monetary units and even an increase in population. Fail to make your workers happy and it won't be long before you are on the hot seat!

As if you don't have enough to worry about with slow production, limited labor, and few resources, you have the boss "dropping in" on your audio/video console assigning you to take care of this problem or that problem. Pirates seem to continually prey on convoys and it's up to you to dissuade them. Aliens make a surprise visit occasionally to test the water.

Sounds in this game are flawless. The interface is quite simple to use and understand; pretty much point and click. The artwork is excellent. Someone paid careful attention to detail and the color palette is a notch above other space strategy games including Masters of Orion. The game’s concept is realistic to say the least. That is a whole lot of good things to say about a game.

Now for the bad news; the bad news is it will take more than just a strategy based mind to win at this one and that is where my major complaint lay. Make a few mistakes and here comes the boss telling you "you've made far too many mistakes"...click...game over. Really, I'm not kidding; game over! What in blue blazes is that? I want to be blasted to smithereens or have a mutiny form or something to end my game play, not have the boss come over the intercom and tell me he doesn't like my performance so hasta la bye bye! I don't know what bright performer at GT thought of this but I hope they are beating the streets looking for work. It really ruined my whole impression of this game.

Maybe it’s just making much ado about nothing, but it would seem that there has got to be a better way of running a game. How so much time could be spent devising the beautiful scenery, the perfect sounds and a slick interface while leaving the possibility of your destiny in the computer AI's decision to "fire" you is beyond me. Trust me, the game is hard enough already without putting this silliness in the mix. It's very disappointing and it’s on the shelf.

Summary:
I bought this game from the cheap bin at my local software store. Why did I buy a cheap? I guess because I liked the cover art and the blurb on the back of the box. When I got home with it and loaded it, which took FOUR tries to get it right, I started playing. The game plays fairly well for what it is and for what I paid for it. However after getting into it I was disappointed. I have several GT games and they were great and I thought GT was a great company, right up until I bought this game. In my opinion they should have worked on this one awhile longer. While the buildings looked great the combat shots were horrid. They reminded me too much of Outpost 2. In short if you are GIVEN this game, play it then use it for a frisbee. Save your money for something better, like Preparation H

Summary:
It is one of the most perfect game I have ever tried. Maybe the best next to Privateer II. Perfect graphics, Perfect sound and a perfect gameplay. There is also an interesting storyline which make the game more, well... Interesting.
I think it is becoming more interesting when you rise in ranks as well.My opinion is: Buy the game.
