Summary:
CotNW is a good game, plagued with flaws.

Cons:
a god-awful interface, some tedious micro-managment

Pros:
tactical combat, boats, exploration, trade, an educational newspaper

Unfortunatly, the Cons often outweight the Pros.

This game was great five years ago and is still great now. If you can find this game for under $15 buy it, you will not be dissappointed.

Summary:
I've owned Conquest of the New World since 1996, and have been hooked since. It's one of those games that never leaves my computer, and I've sometimes found myself playing for 5-8 hours straight. It's very addictive, and very well crafted, even after 5 years. I've put countless hours, and countless games into Conquest, and I highly doubt I will be giving it up anytime soon, as I am a "control-freak" gameplayer, and this game always suits my appetite for power.
