Big Time Software Combat Mission - Barbarossa to Berlin Simulation Review

Big Time Software Combat Mission - Barbarossa to Berlin

Description
Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin (CMBB) is the revolutionary successor to the award winning game system pioneered in Combat Mission: Beyond Overlord. Bigger, bolder, larger in scope with layers of more detail, it is the epitome of the state of the art in combat simulations.

Summary:
This is a excellent turn based WWII Strategy game. I find the game very tactical and fun. The level of control over your troops is very good. Overall an excellent turn based game. Also, as far as I can tell the game seems very historically correct. There is also lots of flexibility in designing your own scenarios.

Summary:
This is Combat Mission on the East Front, so any one familiar with earlier versions is not going to see a huge leap in game play. It's the same great game as before, just now fighting the Germans are Russians (and Hungarians, and Romanians, and Bulgarians, and Finns, if you want. But mostly Russians.) There are about 40 scenarios, 8 or so linked battles including a giant fight for Stalingrad, and a terrific quick battle generator.

But since the original Combat Mission was fantastic, so is this. If you have any interest in combat on the East Front (where lots of people say the real fighting took place) this game is a must-have. I have been playing wargames and their computer bretheren for a quarter of a century. This is one of the top two or three World War Two tactical games I have ever played, including minatures and table top. If I had to limit my library to a single WW2 tank game, this would be it.
