Summary:
Now you can buy and shop for clothes, gifts and magazines for your sims. It's a huge improvement from Livin Large and House party where your sims are prisoners of their houses. In Hot date they can go to many places and meet people. There are restaurants where your sims can go out on a date.
There are so many different and interesting possibilities

Summary:
This game is the best out of all of the expantion packs!! I used to just sit and watch my boring sims watch TV all day but now you can actually get out of the house and go downtown! Truley its worth the price. I spend hours on it going to stores in downtown and having a relax in the love tub!!!

I would say that, of the expansion packs to date, Hot Date is the best one.

Summary:
This is the best expansion. They can now leave their dreary little small-minded town and go shopping where people are rare and the people that are there are the ones you live with or some weirdo sims that crop up no matter where you go. On default all there really is, is restaurants, parks and a shop or two. I downloaded heaps of new stuff for downtown, improving it no-end (I made myself an internet-cafe and cinema, very cool), but still it is limited. Where are the hair salons, the gyms, the fun fairs etc? Why so limited Maxis? The Sims as a whole needs to be redone, and expanded to such a degree that these things are added, not to mention the bugs completely wiped out.

Summary:
This is like many of the Sim expansions; it is a solid game. Although, game being the keyword. Unfortunately this expansion thing is turning into a marketing scam to round up extra bucks from gamers. The Sims offers alot, although games that don't offer the extensive expense of expansions are already out on the market; just as addictive and fun. Fun for awhile, although not worth 150 bucks or whatever it is for all the expansions (what a rip off)...
