Summary:
If you're looking for animated swooping aircraft and options to give headsets to your passengers, stop reading this review now - you're wasting your time. HOWEVER,

Sure this game has shortcomings, and we'll get to those; but if you ever find yourself dreaming of running your own airline, this is a fun place to start.

There are two competitors in this field:
Airline Tycoon, from Monte Cristo, and
Airline, from www.airlinesimulation.com.

"Airlines 2" lies somewhere in between these 2 games. It is not a "Management Simulation" like Airline, neither is it a "game" like Airline Tycoon. It's somewhere in between. I'll call it a Management Game.

If it's accurate business realism you want above all, I recommend "Airline" hands down, but the spreadsheet style interface isn't for everyone. (Neither does it pretend to be).

If you're looking for "Leisure-suit Larry style" airline management, you should stick with "Airline Tycoon".

If you can handle less depth than "Airline" but you still want 'some' graphics, I recommend this game, "Airlines 2".

"Airlines 2" is stripped of all cheesyness and more like solving a puzzle than anything else. At first I felt frustrated by the game limitations vs. those of real life, but the more I played, I found the simple game limitations were in fact quite cleverly constructed to enforce a small degree of realism into a relatively simple game which has succeeded in keeping me busy for many many hours.

Summary:
This is so far the best airline business simulation game. Theres plenty of airports available. Although there are missing few important airports in north europe... But, anyway, its higly addictive game, for those who like to grow their own business imperium. At first you choose a starting region (I choosed north europe) and then the game begins. You have to research airports so get the information what that city (airport) demand is. Example it needs medication goods and plastics and it exports plastics and food. Then you should find another airport which is quite same size, and it exports medics and demands plastics. So you create a route between these two airports and buy a plane that fits exellent. You can deside to carry only goods or goods and passengers. Theres plenty of different goods to export/import. This game, as many other business games, includes stock exchange. Player has plenty of stock to choose for buying. You have the option to make an offer to buy shares from company which dont have shares available in the market. The negative thing in the stock market is that you dont actually receive any offers (at least i didnt) to negotiate, but thats still very small negative thing. I miss more micro managing in the game. I hoped that i can choose exact the ticket prices, negotiate with companies of transporting goods etc. But still, its the best airline business game, higly addictive.
