Summary:
Well Ill be.......this is BY FAR! the worst flight sim I have ever played in my entire life! I mean hell, Top Gun for the NES was more fun than this! When I first got the game i was so excited. But after 5 minutes of flying I was soooo dissipointed. The game take forever to load, and when you are ready to fly the FPS is lame! I have a TNT2 32MB card and I know that this card gets better frame rates than this! You can choose between a few planes which is nice, but the fact that you dont do ANYTHING but fly is so stupid. As real as it gets??? well hell I guess by dog could fly these things then. You dont touch any of the buttons in the cockpit at all. All you do is TRY to fly with the mad glitching. Oh yeah and when you look out the side windows to see the crappy scenery your game freezes for a sec so it can load the wings or your airplane!!! I have Falcon 4 which is nice and I let my 5 year old cousin try to play that. He couldnt get off the ground. I let him play FS2000 and he was flying better than I was!! Yes maybe he can out fly the real pilots then, or MAYBE just MAYBE this game isnt realistic! If you want a nicely done Flight Sim check out Pro Pilot or Flight Unlimited. You know its rare when a games sequal sux worse than the original game inself tisk tisk tisk. FS98 was cooler than this.

Price Paid:  $29.95 from comp usa

Summary:
Graphics definately showing its' age relative to what is available now. The 2002 version is supposed to be better. Interface is fine. Pull down menus is standard fare. Play is easy. You must use Yoke/rudder pedals, or joystick trottle package to get the most out this sim. A great entertaining way to fly. Just don't take it too seriously on the Sound and Graphics front, and you will have a good time with it. Also, puts some additional planes and things in to keep it more fun. V.C.

Not being a pilot, game was impressive.Must start with tutorials to get hang of game.Once learning the basics, you get feel of game.Downloaded 2 patches already, which included shadows to bldgs, and a patch for the Concord .Must read instructions with Concord, not easy to handle..Other planes were acceptable.Must have 500cpu at least and 128 SDRAM, or dont waste your $$$...

Review NaN of 31
, from Australia

Summary:
Flight Simulator 2000, was a dissapointing game. Hold back though that i am not dissing it, it is not a bad game, it simply didn't live up to its demands, I actually reccomend Flight Simulator '98 over this. One thing that has always baffled me was the lack of detail in this game, sure there is alot of detail, but it's mainly incorrect, locations are not right, when i looked at the nearest airport list in Australia, i was at the Blue Mountains, Katoomba airport is some 900 metres high. The elevation notes that its 1,800 metres??? And why is Australia highest elevation 3,000 metres?? When its merely 2,200 metres. Also the game sucks up alot of your computers energy.
Sure there are alot of planes, and they look fine, i think they should render the airport traffic abit, and the weather could be better.
It is an expensive game, and if you are looking for a Flight Simulator that lives up to its demands for its time, try FLY or Flight Sim '98, or you can possibly wait for Flight Sim 2002.
