Summary:
I have to disagree with the popular opinion on this game. I've never been a fan of expansion packs since they try to recapture the flavor of the original and most of the time they come off as cheap clones with slight variances. This is true for Black Knight as well.

What's the most disturbing above all is the complete lack of any involving storyline. While Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance had a strong plot backing it up, this game is completely detached from its predecessor and actually goes against it. In this game your a mercenary commander that simply does jobs for the highest bidder (Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries anyone?). So now M$ is telling me after spending so much time playing as Ian Dresari in MW4: Vengeance and freeing Kentares IV from his corrupt cousin, William, and the house of Steiner, now in Black Knight Ian turns out just to be another tyrant whom murdered his sister so he can be supreme ruler? PLEASE! What the hell is that crap? So in Black Knight, Steiner hires you and your mercenary legion to take out Ian on Kentares IV and after doing so you are betrayed by Steiner. Now the whole point of Black Knight is take out Steiner AGAIN as a matter of vengeance just like in the original MW4. It just gets worse and worse. They didn't even hire the original actor for Ian Dresari (because he didn't want anything to do with this title-that should tell you something). M$ basically just tried to copy MW2: Merc and add the whole mercenary aspect to MW4, but this game at best only copies MW2: Merc when it was at its worst.

I felt so ripped off when buying this game, and any fan of Mech 4 who got involved with the story of that game will be equally as disappointed. DON'T BUY THIS GAME!! It's just awful.

Summary:
This was really fun after MW3 and MW4. I liked having to think about mission objectives rather than "which target do I sic my lancemates on next." I wish the designers had included a Mission Editor or generator like in MechCommander2.

I thought the game was good, despite the lack of FLAMERS & only ONE CLUSTER BOMB in the campaign! but, otherwise... still good.

Overall I have to say that I have enjoyed revisiting playing Mechwarrior 4 with some new missions to accomplish. I thought that the intro to Mechwarrior 4 was awesome. I was disappointed with the intro for Black Knight.
