Summary:
I havent played a flight sim for probably 10 years. The last flight sim I owned was on my commodor 64 computer so you know its been awhile. I saw the multiplayer lobby on the ubi website and thought that it might be fun to play online so i went out and bought it. WOW!!! What a thing of beauty. Flight sims sure have come along way

Summary:
I`ve been playing this on and off for months now and I can honestly say its by far the best WWII combat sim around, scoring way above Microsoft combat sim 3 in my opinion, in fact its one of the most beautifully crafted games I`ve ever played in any genre.

Summary:
I was a flight sim addict but had not played anything for about three years.

Having just bought a new joystick, I decided it was time to pick up a more up-to-date simulator. I scoured the net for reviews of combat sims that had taken flight since the release of the ill fated Falcon-4 (the last sim I purchased)

IL2-Sturmovik seemed to have gathered widespread praise so I decided to hunt a copy down. I was lucky to find a copy released by budget game re-publisher 'Focus Essentials'. for about a third of the usual price for a PC game here in the UK.

In a nutshell, IL-2 plays like a dream. A little more simulator than action game, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a white knuckle ride through Soviet WWII air-combat history.

Summary:
This is a game crictics should not dare review.
It's real as real can get.
You can't expect to jump into a plane and fly do you?
So can you expect to understand this game and review it in a few hours?
It took me a week to learn to take off, a month to learn to land right and two months to become usefull in a dogfight.
But I did, and when I did i cannot play any more of the arcade like "sims" out there.
Even though I can now land the plane succesfully, It's so realistic the shear feeling of doing so is fantastic.
You can't get bored of flying in this game, period.
A guy reviewing games for magazines or sites should steer well clear of this game.

Price Paid:  $29.00 from CompUSA

Summary:
The guys at 1C games were definitely going for the hard-core flight sim market with this one.
If you're a casual flight simmer like me, you may want to give this one a miss.

If you're a hard core simmer, you already have IL2 so why are you reading this?

I feel somewhat bad giving this game the low marks I did as it is obviously a labour of love and I would guess succeeds admirably at what it does, but it isn't what I was looking for.
