Summary:
Excellent simulation of baseball! Not arcade-ish like some some other games. Comes with a "tune" file that controls such things as pitch speed, bat contact and other things that control the way the game plays baseball and all of which you can edit to your liking. Many websites offer tips and even their own "tune" files that you can try with this game. Lots of stats with the game and season play with minor leagues included make the replay value excellent. User made creations such as free agent programs and statistical history programs make the game that much better. This game has a dedicated user following. Look for websites that offer such stuff.

Summary:
Now that the baseball season is over, I am forced to get my daily fill from the best baseball game on the market: Sammy Sosa High Heat 2001. Don't be fooled by its less-than-spectacular graphics and mediocre sound; this game, if you are into sports SIMULATIONS and not arcade fodder like Triple Play 2001 (perhaps the worst sports game of all time), then SSHH2001 is for you. All of the elements of real baseball are here: pickoffs, steals, beanballs, strikeouts (yes, you can strike out the computer!), home runs, suicide squeezes, double plays, pitcher changes, closers, etc. If it's a part of baseball, it's a part of High Heat 2001.

Summary:
If they would actually adequately quality test their products before shipping, and do continued customer support I'd have given this a better rating.... see below...

Also, after I upgraded to a voodoo 3 from voodoo 2, I couldn't get the game to run long without locking up (everytime). You have been warned.
If it works with yours, congrats.

Decent arcade game, but simmers should pull out the old front page sports 98 baseball game.

Summary:
Game in itself is a very good baseball game, has a very clean feel to it. Almost all features are great, although BP's primary flaw is that it doesn't keep track of balls and strikes. 50 pitches would be more impressive if 30 of them were balls that I didn't swing at.

Summary:
They say on the front of the box "Best Baseball Game, We Guarantee it!" and for once, the computer box that often seduces you with it's pretty graphics and cool looking screenshots into buying crappy games best used as coasters, does not lie. It is an awesome game.

I am not the biggest baseball fan either, I am lucky I go to one game a year, then again I live in Pittsburgh, home of the team with the worst record in all of baseball.
Oh yeah, wait till next year! Besides, the Pirates play half decent in this game, it think it is my managent skills!
