Summary:
Feb2003
I got the Voodoo 5500 pci (!) just after 3df closed it cost £100 and was 1 of few in the shop with 64mbs. Since then Ive been nothing but pleased with it. I started ou on a celeron 633 and the v5. It was ok untill mohaa came. It played it just. 10fps. No patched needed or anything, I use the 3dfx drivers for dx8 (yes they are out! @ voodoofiles.com) and the underground 1.09 beta 10s. The only games I cant get to work are sof2, platoon and james bond nightfire, all of which work with other people. GTA3 fine at 1024x768x16, same with bf1942.
Thats at 15-20ish frames on a p4 2.0a and 640mbs sdram (lol dont ask)
I think im gonna keep it forever! lol

Summary:
This card was top of the line when I got it. Since NVidia took over, The Voodoo cards have been abandoned. Now, all of the 3rd party upgrades are geared toward WIN2k and later os. Gamers: Don't bother buying this card. It is more of a hassle than it is worth. I got a russian driver for dirx8.0. Now, with 8.1 out there...forget it. If you're NOT a gamer, this card will work wonderfully. Want mine?

Summary:
I purchased the Voodoo 5 5500 PCI right after it came out about two years ago. It was certainly the cadillac of video cards when it came out. I then upgraded to XP pro and had to obtain a 3rd person driver from voodoofiles.com to operate my system.. I was sad to find out 3dfx went out of business, even though it might be outdated there are updated drivers at voodoofiles.com to play most all games.. This card puts out the power. Its been awesome.. 64 MB dual-chip SLI processors pushing some hellacious graphics.. I wouldn't trade it in.. Its like a 56 Chevy,..

Summary:
After having this card for over a year, I feel this is the best review you'll get. When I first got this card, I was so surprised! The details where awesome and the colors too. But since 3dfx has gone out of buisness, new Direct X 's don't support it making it hard to get high frame-rates in games like Medal of Honor. Infact, you have too download hacks just to get this game to start! And I won't even talk about GTA3.

Its out-dated, and if you buy this thing now for more then 80 bucks, you got ripped! I will soon get sopme nVidia thing-a-ma-bob.
