Summary: WOW! What a great game! I liked DDR (even though its format was total retro trash dumpster), I kinda liked DDR Disney Mix(Goofy, Dancing, Not a good image), but DDR Konamix takes the cake! It is a well put together game and I think that even though Playstation one is standing on it's last wobbly legs, DDR KONAMIX definatly holds it up. So far, I have been adictted to DDR for the longest time and I am playing while iam typing this reveiw (between songs) and even though it doesn't have the songs some people would like, it is stll great with the mixes, new songs and old favorites, though not many. I would coment though that if you are a veteren DDR player and have played at least mixes 3rd, 4th, and 5th, that you are not missing much and it is basiclly all mixed into one game, 3rd mix inter face and some of the 4th mix songs, you know, missing some characters from 5th though. Higher and Look to the Sky are my favorites right now and are great to start off with. What's great about DDR games is that fact and feeling of accomplishment and even pride when you get and "A" on a maniac. So, KONAMIX will stand out for along time! Well, until DDRMAX comes out... heh heh heh yeah whatever.
Summary: Dance Dance Revolution Konamix is a great addition to the DDR library. The song selection is tremendous and the genre variety is large. I would not, however, suggest it to those of you who have the imported version(s) of DDR 3rd mix or 5th mix.

Summary: Excellent game all together. If the soft pad wasn't so annoying it'd be perfect. I only started playing this about 3 months ago, but after playing at the Jersey Shore a few times, I went out and bought 2 pads and the 3 games out there to buy, DDR, Disney Mix, and DDR Konamix. My best point to anyone would be, if your in Florida, near Disney, Go to DisneyQuest in Pleasure Island. Tickets go for like 29.95 to 39.95 but you can play DDR non-stop for free(sorta) all day long, and if you get thirsty(you will) you can just go upstairs for refreshment and come back down and play again! yea! Talk about losing weight too!
Summary: DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) is a great game for those who love dancing and even for those who do not like dancing. I have played this game all the time in the arcades near my house and even on a cruise ship where i found about this great game called DDR. Basicly in DDR you push the arrows on the pad when they come up on to the screen. It is kind of hard at first how to learn and that is why you should by DDR Konamix to help you learn how to dance and not become embarrased infront of a crowd at all. You may also want a dance pad for the game if you are really into it. I would recomend going to either Redoctane.com or buynshop.com. They both sell bundles that include that game and dance pads.
Yes you can play the game with your playstation controller but to get the real feal of this game you must by a pad.
Now here is some information i have found on this games histroy. This was first released in Japan and then later released in the US. It is hard to find some of these machines but you can locate all of the machines near you by going to ddrfreak.com. While you can buy Imported versions of the popular 3rd, 4th, and 5th mixes DDR Konamix is the best one for the US releases.
I have just bought this game a few days ago and i and i am having fun not having to pay to play. there is great sound, graphics, game play, and music!
The game offers a nice load of features including and edit mode and a diet mode. the edit mode lets you create some of your own steps. The game also has 52 songs 36 of which are new to the US and 2 extra tracks as well. But this game lacks some of my favorite songs from the arcade like butterfly. But wiht 52 songs this is the best yet.
Now you might want to know some information on the DDR Pads. You can buy either soft pads, hard pads, or metal pads. Softpads are the cheapest pads you can buy and are relativlity good depending on how you play. These pads are made of plastic with senseors underneath the arrwos that put hte moves into your playstation. They can last longet by having a cover for them. they are nice pads and usually come with in bundles you can by over the net. The basic Demension is 34"x37". That is roughly 3'x3'. The Konami brand is the most expensive while there is good 3rd party pads out that are much cheaper. at buynshop.com you can buy a pad for $14. that is a good price if you are on a budget. A hardpad does the same as a soft pad but is made of harder plastic and does not slip and slide. The only thing is that these pads cost a lot of money. some of the nicer ones can sometimes be $120. The best pad i think you can buy are metal pads. They are very expesive bu they can wistand 300lbs and have mush better censors. They are 150. Overall i would get a softpad to start playing the game.
DDR also sometimes has tournaments. People can do an 8 foot and two pads as well.
