Price Paid:  $10.00 from toys r us

Summary:
A good stragety/rpg game, the way the story goes is Vorless, a ruined hero, sets out to renew the goddess of destruction, and the king of gross sends ships out to stop Vorless, and Vorless uses the ring of the Tribe Of The Red Eye to destrow the ships, and you, as a member of the Tribe Of the Red Eye, even though you really don't know whats going on, set out to a cave, and find a map to the Goon Docks, a haunted house that has passageways into a cove where ships are, from the war of the goddess, and you find your father's corpse, and a letter to you which never got sent, and it tells you about the 'magical puppets' which you can control, and has a 'jewel', a magical object which can morph and grow the 'magical puppets'. you go back home and your friends are messing with the jewels that you found, and a hole blows up in the side of the house, leading down. you follow the path and find the magical puppets the letter talked about, and on further inspection of the letter, it says to morph the magical puppets, you have to throw a jewel at it. I know this game sounds like a typical RPG, and it is, but its the battle system that Makes the difference.

Summary:
Eternal Eyes..hum. I was attracted to it for the price and the genre. I love this genre of games-- Final Fantasy Tactics, Front Mission 3, Vanguard Bandits, etc. I wasn't expecting too much due to the price. But I was still disappointed. I can't recall the last time I've played such a boring game. This game was difficult to get through not because of difficulity of challenge, but because it was so boring to continue.

Summary:
I thought this game was very well done. The graphics may not have been perfect but I'm a sucker for games like this and Dragon Warrior Monsters Seven, also for PS1. I thought it had a cool storyline and hope to God it's derived from a graphic novel so I can buy the novels. I recommended it to a friend, who also loved it. So did her brother. Kudos to the company and I hope the creator got a nice juicy raise.

Price Paid:  $10.00 from FYE

Summary:
I picked this game up on a whim while killing time at the mall, trying to stay cool one very hot day last week. I'd never heard of ti before, but the screenshots and cute monsters on the back intrigued me (i'm a sucker for cute anime-style graphics) and I figured that for $10 it couldn't be too much of a risk.

While that may have been true, I'm definitely wishing I'd put that $10 toward something more interesting and, well, good.........like FFT. I'm just not impressed with this game. First of all, I was mislead by the description on the back into thinking that this would be a true RPG, not a strategy game (which it is, though not a very good one). So, I expected to be doing the normal RPG fare - going on mini-quests and collecting characters while trying to solve the main plot/storyline/mystery - and instead I get one playable character and a bunch of little pokemon-esque monsters battling a bunch of other little monsters. The overall feeling I get is that it was very low budget, produced by people who might have had good artistic skills but not a lot of writing or strategy talent, as sort of a demo game or something for a new company or game system - it certainly doesn't reflect the fact that it was made for the PS one several years after it hit the market, by a company that I not only have heard of but that I am fairly certain is a decent size.

If you want a game that is rather mindless and more or less easy on the eyes, I suppose its ok. But if you're like me and are used to challenging RPGs with real stories and lots of characters and great graphics and music, you're going to be disapointed.

Price Paid:  $8.00 from Target

Summary:
Eternal Eyes is a very promissing RPG that tends to drag a few hours in. The story seems great in the beginning if not a little corny and it has great artwork. Unfortionately as the game goes on the story doesn't. The game sends you on irrelevent missions designed to drag the game on much longer than it has to. Also, the mappeon system can get quite confusion and jumbled leaving you wanting to scrap your puppet and create a new one. All in all though its still enjoyable and worth under $10.00. But if you really want a good strategy game for playstation get Final Fantasy Tactics. Its only $15.00.
