Summary:
Well, I've done a few reveiws on this site already, and I'm gonna do more!! Well, this game really made me into video games. Before I would just sit around and if m brother just happens to be off I would play. When I bought Parasite Eve I didn't care if it was in use, I kicked my brother off!! This is an awsome game, I think the next is even better, look 4 my review there 2!! Aya Brea, trapped in a world she thought she left behind. Dont wanna gove da ebd away, but she tried to leave the hard memories of her dead twin sister, Maya Brea behind her. Ah...what a story!! The Worst Foe Lies Within The Self. Hahahaha! In Japan they even have a boss at the gun shop and that pharnmasy, with that old house with Daniel and Meada.

Summary:
I rented this back in '98 or '99. After running out of ammo in some sewers, I took it back with the thought of buying it, and never did. I also played the sequel, and didn't finish it, and once at a comic book convention saw the movie for sale at a video/anime booth. (It's a movie in Japan) I passed it up for some kungfu flicks. So the whole Parasite Eve story is probably the only story that interested me, that I never actually followed through on. That may sound like it doesn't bode well for the game, but it really is a good game.
Aya Brea is a police officer fused with a new type of mitochondria. This new mitochondria is sentient, and has personified itself in a woman named Melissa, and now calls herself, "Eve." Eve, can infect living organisms, causing them to mutate into horrible monsters, and the whole story gets played out through the plot, and some flashbacks.
The story is intriguing because it has roots in actual science, and it's rated M so it's a very adult story (and gory). I can't really say why it's taken me a couple years to get around to actually finishing it, but... better late than never! =P

Square taunts this as a cinematic RPG, and I've seen many a debate rage over whether it is or not. While the Japanese may have a broader sense of what an RPG is, I vote no. This is survival horror with some stat keeping thrown in. Not to make it sound like an afterthought. The gameplay elements are good, just far from the detail and complexity of what RPGS are known for.

Overall, a great game, and I highly recommend it even at this late date. Like Resident Evil or Silent Hill, this is best played at night with all the lights out.

Summary:
Humans versus the Mitochondria. Well, that's an oversimplification of the story but accurate. Mitochondria have evolved to the point that they no longer need humans. They are out to create the Ultimate Being, who would destroy humans.

Police officer Aya Brea is special. She has a symbiotic relationship with the Mitochondria in her body. Because of this, she is the only one who can stop Eve.

This is a good RPG to start out with. Anybody who wants to take up RPGs for the first time would do well to get this game. The game is not overly long. And it doesn't get tedious.

Summary:
Parasite Eve is such a nice game! It has the best graphics ever (and each body part is fully intact with the other!), most greatest story ever, and lastly and most importantly (well to me that is) the music is brilliant. It's not as grand as Resident Evil, but it's definitley the best job Square has ever attempted. The only gripe is that it took me roughly 4 hours to finish the game. Now that's really short and I know that's a big problem. But it was fun while it lasted. At least it doesn't take me about 4 hours just to do some side events- like most RPGs out there. Right now though I'm currently 2 hours into EX Game. Its definitly one of the best games in my library.

Summary:
Parasite Eve: Square’s first attempt in the realm of horror genres. After years of playing Squaresoft RPG products, changing style didn’t seem like an intelligent move. Square being known for their innovative RPG titles decided to experiment with new gaming genres and Parasite Eve is the one. They’ve done fighting, racing, shooting, and what’s this? A horror genre? The hype was high and everyone wondered how Square would do with this newcomer so consumers flocked to their nearest video game stores and grabbed their own. I bought the game not because it’s another Square title, it’s because of my curious nature. Plus I enjoy playing horror genres and this was one of the earlier ones for the PS. There is always something interesting about companies that jump from what they do well to something out of the blue. I snatched a copy and immediately started playing with a few doubts in mind. After playing a few hours, I can easily justify that this game had its kicks and surprises but apt to reach inane aspects. Game play was satisfying to an extent but not enough to fully quench my desires. The graphical and musical aspects could have offered more spunk and more “attitude”. The story was less gratifying compared to other Square plots like Final Fantasy 7 or Xenogears. Fortunately, it’s simple enough to comprehend so the flow of the plot streamed through smoothly. In a nutshell, the game offered some challenges and most importantly sheer entertainment. Good job Square.
