from EB Games Summary: Now called "Magic Pengel: the Quest for Color," this game drives it's bottom line from the oldest form of wonderment: doodling. From a first person view, you're placed in a kingdom that's ruled by a tyrant...of sorts. A young girl, Zoe, and her little bro, Taro, wait anxiously for their dad to return home from wherever the hell he went off to. But the kingdom wants their land, and so Zoe and Taro must raise money to buy it back, and the only way to do that is by fighting in the arena games. Armed with doodles, the only form of sport in their world, they ask you, since you're the awesomest doodler that they have ever seen, of course, to enter the doodle fighting challenges and work your way up the bracket, all the way to the finals, so that they can have their land back, but only if you win it all.
Oh, and there's some spongy, sentimental stuff thrown in for good taste--y'know, stuff about a father's undying love, perseverence to save one's only home, and how important color is to our world.
It's very kiddie for sure, but once you actually see your own drawing come to life and kick major ass, then you'll be hooked, guaranteed. A major flaw, though, is it's length. For many, you may find enjoyment in this for months and months to come; for some, you may find enough enjoyment to get you through the week. I'd advise a rental first, and if you can't find it then strive for a cheap used copy, though it's pretty hard to find nowadays. Hell, I could only find it in one freakin' store, and it was a used copy, and man I'm glad I decided to pick 'er up. You will be, too.
