from Rental Summary: This game really snuck in under the radar with almost no hype at all. I just happened to see it at Gamestop. But hearing practically nothing about a game can potentially be a bad thing. So I decided to rent it. I'm glad I did. This game is not worth $49.99, IMHO, unless you are just a hardcore Jessica Alba fan.
Dark Angel is James Cameron's cyber punkish vision of a post-apocalyptic Seattle, and the plight of a genetically engineered soldier named Max, played by all around hottie, Jessica (Drool) Alba. *pant pant*
The show was canceled after two seasons. I was never a watcher of the show as I don't watch much TV in general. I did catch a few episodes though. There was talk of making it a movie and honestly they should've done that and bypassed a series. TV is very limiting and anything Cameron does is generally larger than life.
But for a quick rundown, Max, a genetically enhanced super soldier of the future is on the run from the military that spawned her as she tries to discover herself and find a place to fit in and belong. She hooks up with Logan Gale, a hacker and love interest... sorta. Apparently you can't sleep with Max, or you die from some kind of super virus. Yikes! That totally sucks not to be able to have a love scene with a hottie like that! =P
The game seems devoid of any real storyline or plot. After 3 hours of play, I've yet to come across any real dialogue that would qualify as a storyline. So story oriented gamers should look elsewhere. But also on the CD are photos from the show and shoots of Jessica Alba, interviews with developers of the show and with Jessica and Michael Weatherly, who plays Logan, a ton of back story about the Dark Angel universe, clips from the show and other extra content.
