Crave Entertainment Mojo Puzzle Review

Crave Entertainment Mojo

Description
Mojo! is a graphically stunning, simple, yet sophisticated 3D puzzle game that tests both your mind and your reflexes. Because each move you make slowly drains your "MOJO" (energy), you must carefully weigh each action as you maneuver through increasingly difficult puzzle stages. Only the most shrewd and skillful players will be able to navigate Mojo!'s unique chain of puzzles in order to survive to the legendary 100th stage!

Summary:
Mojo is a dexterity/puzzle game that is similar in basic gameplay to Super Monkey Ball on the Gamecube and Gameboy Advance. In those games, there are morphing floating platforms that you roll a 'monkey ball' around in order to achieve a goal.

Mojo differs in that the goal is usually time based, and also in that it involves puzzle solving aboard the floating platforms. But, like Super Monkey Ball, much of the challenge is in keeping the ball from flying off the platform into space.

For $10, Mojo is worth buying, if you like unusual puzzle games. But it lacks that grab-you-by-the-neck addictiveness that Super Monkey Ball, Tetris, Bombastic, Ballistic, or what some other great puzzle games have to offer.

Mojo has a multi player mode, but I only played the single player game.

For what it is, Mojo is well polished. It's very evident that a lot of hard work went into the production of this game. It looks good, plays smooth, and has some highly original elements. But for me, it just does not come together well. The combination of trying to keep from rolling off platforms while solving puzzles simply doesn't work. If you cannot afford a Gamecube and are dying to have a Super Monkey Ball experience, then you may want to pick this up. It is, after all, only $10.
