Summary:
I bought this game expecting another great BMX hit from the makers of the original Dave Mirra for ps1. Good god was I wrong. This game is probably one of the worst sports games I have EVER played. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the somewhat enterataing levels, the funny as hell bails when you bail your bike mid-air, and the medeocre soundtrack.

Summary:
I was quite dissapointed when I bought this game.Mat Hoffman wasnt available in this game along with a couple of other people that probably should have been. But anyways what dissapointed me was the multiplayer mode. There is no 2 player split screen and you and your friend have to keep taking turns when playing.Thats just plain stupid. Also what happened to the 2 player free ride, its not in this game.Pathetic.The 1 player mode was kinda dumb too. There are eight levels to choose from and they all suck except the first one.The levels need big improvement like making it bigger or adding more vert type environment or street environment for grinding and flatland tricks.Every level makes me feel bored except for the first level which I can play for quite some time even though it is the smallest level in the game. The other levels have like nowhere to go everywhere you ride there is no rails or ramps or halfpipes everything is kinda hard to find. The proquest mode was pathetic.I mean unlocking levels are hard and the goals are too.The create a park mode was bad and good in some ways. The good thing is you get to pick a theme but the bad thing is there are not alot of variations of stuff to put in your park. They need to make it bigger. What I mean is they give you a limit when you create a park you cant go past this or go beyond that. They need to expand it more if you know what I mean. The movies for each pro BMXer in this game is stupid. Each movie lasts about 20 seconds each and its kinda blurry so its hard to sede what tricks are being done.Unlike tony hawk 3 movies which lasts about 2 minutes, clear view, and the skateboarder actually talks and introduces themselves while it shows their skate movie.

Controls:The controls to this game take a little time to get use.One thing I hate is that you have to hold the up button on the control pad to pedal, move, steer, etc. They should of just made the controls so all you have to do is hold x to go faster and release it to bunnyhop. Its easier that way.Thats how it is in tony hawk all you have to do is hold down x and release it to do an ollie. And when you are on a halfpipe just hold down x and right when you are about to go off the edge just release the x button and you can get big air.But its not like that in dave mirra 2.You have to hold up then right when you get to the edge you have to hold x the release it to get big air but you still have to control it while holding the up button to spin. Also I hate it when you land backwards and you have to keep holding up and it takes a while to get back into normal position. What I like in this game is that there are alot of tricks that you can do.But some of them are to hard to pull off because you have to push like 5 buttons to do it.Some of them are impossible to land like the triple backflip and double frontflip takes a while to land.

Summary:
Ok, now before I get into this review let me say up front, I am new to BMX games. I have not played a BMX game before I played Dave Mirra. However, I was not impressed. The game seemed slow and monotonus for most of the time. I usually tried to spice it up and perform a variety of tricks, but instead I'd end up throwing out the same old tricks most of the time. For fans of BMX games, this is your "Happy Meal", but for me, it wasn't that great of a game. If you're looking for an extreme sports title, Wait and get Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. Or get Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3.
