Summary:
Just to specify, for the first reviewer: Cart Fury isn't about Formula One; The title says: CART, which means Indy Cart Series... right?!

(Sorry, I just can't shut up when I see a racing game fan that can't make the difference between F1 and CART!)

First, this game is 100% arcade, the graphics can't be compared to any Ps2 game yet because it just feel exactly like an old 1998 coin-arcade game, something that we haven't seen in any PS2 racing softs. Seriously, it's one of the ugliest games I ever seen on Playstation 2 after Seek and destroy.

Control couldn't be more simple, unrealistic (but in a good way) and easy to master. On the opposite, the gameplay is fast and furious, frustrating for beginners, bust still challenging for experts; thanks to the many modes, sub-modes and tracks!

Sound is really average, even poor. It'll be hard to drive manual if you need to hear the RPM to shift correctly.

OVERALL: You may be really disapointed; this game is not the regular racer you've been used to on Ps2. Also, real tracks (like Toronto) have been transformed to keep the gameplay faster, and that can make some Cart purists pretty angry. But the best part of the game is it's kinda " DRIVE AS FAST AS YA CAN, DON'T CARE OF OTHER CARS BUT CRUSH THEM ALL!!! " funny feeling. I used to hate every CART and also F1 simulator I've tried. The only way to have fun in them was to enter a invincibility cheat and destroy everyone, including the pace-car while running in the wrong way. But in this case, it's not simulation but only pure action, speed, crashes and euphoria!

You like or hate, try it, you'll see.

Summary:
This game could have been a lot better than I expected. When I rented it I wanted a game that simulates a real CART car. This game is just an arcade game. The game makes you feel like you are playing a video game but not actually driving a CART car.

Summary:
I’ll make this short and to the point. With so many quality racing games on PS2, there’s really no reason for me to own Cart Fury. The bottom line is that this game has very little lasting appeal. The physics are awkward, the controls are limited, and the strategy is nonexistent. I grew tired of this game after the first day of rental when I realized that I had pretty much mastered the game. On the plus side, this game has one of the easiest learning curves out there and so younger gamers may find this game fun to rent.

The game has real-life Formula One racers and their respective cars, so fans of this racing genre will have something to identify with. Overall the game is broken into 3 main modes: arcade, simulation, and bonus. There is not much difference between the arcade and sim mode except arcade mode has a turbo feature and sim mode gives you the ability to modify 3 of the cart’s features (like downforce, etc.) which affect handling and top speed. But, in sim mode these features don’t appear to affect the race at all, as I will explain later. In either mode, you are required to place first in order to clear that stage. There appears to be quite a lot of tracks, and they are based on real-life F1 tracks. Unlocking stages also unlocks some of the movies, including a movie that shows off the racing girls. Also, after finishing first you get to see a little video snipett of the racing girls holding and dancing around your trophy. (This game uses a lot of the racing girl videos to try to “spice” things up, but it doesn’t help the game at all.)
