Summary:
Diablo I clone. It apparently got help by using Diablo's engine: its the same old thing.

NOT Baldur's Gate at all! Rip off!

Baldur's Gate was for the PC is an excellent game. In my opinion, the best for the PC in 10 years. That's another writeup.

Also to note: no town to speak of. Just an Item shop with a few people that tell you to go back to the dungeon.

No, no field map. What field? None.

I get board of it (any Diablo clone) soon after beginning. No replay value.

Because some lowlife went and lied about it being an all 5 games. Completely fair, I give all one's. Fair considering the other reviews.

Summary:
This game is basically a Diablo clone. For me, there is nothing wrong with copying a successful formula for a new game, however this game fails to improve on the formula. Now this game does improve on a few things, but they are mostly superficial like graphics and sound. In terms of core gameplay, this will be very familiar territory for anyone who played either Diablo game on the PC, but it is especially reminiscent of the first Diablo. All your old tricks that you had to discard in Diablo 2 are new again. Waiting around a corner to surprise a ranged unit who lost sight of you and just wanders over, check. Standing in a doorway and killing each member of a mob as they march through single file, check. Hiding in the corner till your mutant healing factor kicks in, check(Hmm, wrong game but the trick still works, there is even a skill to make it better!) Things like targeting are harder on a console, but there are skills to make up for it. You will be seeing a lot of familiar skills and spells, as many are lifted from the Diablo games as well. This game tries to have replay value, but the super difficulty level is just frustrating, especially because you loose all of your equipment when you start the higher level, and the improved items you can find are not really worth slogging through creatures that have a million HP and do tons of damage, yet are still as mindless as before. A special hate goes out to the extreme difficulty level first shop that does not have a single bow, my archer character was helpless for many hours till I found one and all my skills were usable again. Story is very standard fare, I was never excited about uncovering new segments, I was just plowing through it. I have been fairly critical of the game but I did like a few things that Blizzard(Diablo’s creator) could learn from. Graphical effects such as water, fire, freezing and burning are excellent. Also, the shopkeepers say funny and cool things while you shop. Finally, the sound of loot falling to the ground is clear enough that I can hear when something interesting drops, and what type of item it is.

Summary:
Well to begin with, hack & slash games are not my kind of game. You know, I can't see the fun with running around and slaying a thousands of enemies, then you run then there are thousands of enemies there again, what is the fun? Those who love this kind of games must play it for getting muscles in their thumbs i think. There's just the graphics and the story that is good in this game. Nothing less and nothing more! The graphics looks very nice with all the colours and all those things, specially the winterland is the nicest part of the game, the story is also very good. But that does not make any sense, cause in this game the challenge and the main thing is just to run and make the slaughter out of all enemies. I think that this game could be a hell lot of fun if they had less enemies and more puzzles. but that's not what it is, little bit sad! My points to this game lies between 1 and 2, in the summary I can't give it 1,5. but that's what i give this game overall.

Summary:
This is an alright game and was worth only the $15 I paid for it. A great disapointment when compared to any of the other games put out by Black Isle. Very little role playing and development. Lots of hack-n-slash and linear story.

Summary:
Although I wouldn't classify BGDA as a straight laced role playing game, it certainly has many RPG elements (i.e. Character Choice, Character specialization traits and development, developing story line etc.). Although I favor basic RPG games over 'hack and slash', I found in BGDA a very nice blend of both that kept my interest for days on end.
