$0.00 Summary: The long-awaited release of the next FF game is finally here. This game is jam-packed with references from final fantasy tactics advance (Montblanc, Nono, Vieras, Bangaas, Nu Mou, Adremmalech, Maetus, Famfrit, Exodus, Clans)
and many other final fantasy games(Airships named things like Queen Hilda[FF2(J)] Ifrit, Carbuncle, Leviathan, Valefor, etc.)and of course, Bahamut! Also, this game boasts 2 Cids! a man named Al-Cid, and another named Dr. Cid. And finally, more girls with 2-inch long pants! Strengths: Its a very long game with the unarguably great sidequests that Final Fantasy always promises, there is a HUGE variety of weapons, armor, spells, and enemies, and the graphics are breathtaking in cinematics, however, the on field graphics are similar to those of FFX. The battle sequence is good in my opinion, but it really depends on if you like the more fast-paced battles or if you only appreciate the turn-based system that can be found in many other RPGs. The actual battling is very much like World of Warcraft's, and not as much like FFXI.
Also, The gambit system (Your party members instructions and whatnot) is very intellegent and has never bugged to my knowledge.
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, they decided to add a "license" system, much like the sphere grid. Its an okay way to learn abilities, but you also cannot use certain weapons or armor until you unlock certain licences. After you pass that phase, you have to buy the weapon or spell at a shop, or find them from an enemy. There are still some licences like max hp +50 that act instantly, but still... To get any license you must spend license points which you get by killing enemies. Other than this single factor, I see no other weak points in this game. Report this review >>
