Summary: Strap yourself in for the mecha fight of your life! This game straps you into a 360 degree slam/shooter fest that will last for hours... the only thing that really makes it difficult to give this a perfect rating is the difficulty setting. Normal mode is notorious for kicking your butt from every direction, each enemy hitting you harder than the last.
It also has a bit of a learning curve, but even that won't distract you from enjoying the game.
And I have to say, although the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo was included, it was NOT my main inclination to buy this game. I wanted it the first time I laid eyes on it.
The battles alone are a sight to see and for that reason alone, the game should at least receieve a rental. I can't wait to play The 2nd Runner!

Summary: First thing I have to say is I could never find out how to do your own reviews so i'v only just posted it. Secondly buy this game!
This is the best mech game I have ever played! You are Leo a young outcast who nobody wanted living on a space colony orbiting Jupiter the furthest colony away from Earth hence the game is called Zone of the Enders. Leo comes upon an orbital frame known as Jehuty and with the help of Jehuty onboard battle computer ADA. Unwillingly Leo agrees to transport Jehuty to a civilian transport vehicle called Atlantis for a war on Mars.
There are a number of different endings to this game three in total. The first is obtained by just killing every thing whether you are supposed to or not, e.g. kill all the survivors, enemies and buildings. This is al lot of fun but is hard work. Secondly just complete the came, easy! Thirdly save all survivors and complete the game, this is really hard!
All games have their down points and as all games do so does this one the game can be completed in a very quick 4 hours. But that’s being done by not obtaining all weapons and not saving all survivors and being done on easy when you should be attempting hard and very hard.
Believe me once you get into this game you wont be able to wait for the next one for info on the next game Zone of the Enders 2nd runner go to: http://www.konamijpn.com/products/zoe2/english/
Summary: It could've been better. I mean, with a story that took place near Jupiter, and awesome gameplay, good, if redundant, music, and excellent-to-perfect graphics. But it could've been better. And the main character was a little wuss. He didn't like to kill if it was unnecessary, and his little girlfriend was meant to be a martyr. (I'm not spoiling anything.)
Summary: Ok, I know I'm a little over a year late. But give me a break. This was the first PS2 title that I ever played. It was awesome. The only dispute I have with it is the fact that it isn't long enough. There could have been much more. However, this game is right near perfect in my eyes. Not to mention an awesome game, great story, and a two-player fight mode to throw in the mix; you had a demo for Metal Gear 2. Great.
Summary: Zone of The Enders was an outstanding game for it's time. The in game graphics are awesome, and the FMV scenes are pretty good, but still leaves the player with a little more to be desired. Overall decent story, and great game.
