Summary:
Oh Man, this thing is a toad! It may have wow'd them back in the mid 90's but not now. I bought this yesterday, and played it for a short while. Just long enough to see that is sucks. The graphics that amazed the dude who reviewed this below me are pathetic. The explosions are the blocky transpatent and cheezy looking stuff you expect from a first gen. console. No exageration!
Do not trust the review below this one. It is completely disgraceful.
This game is a joke even at $15.00. This a throwback to the sorry games I bought years ago and was stuck with because nobody wanted them.
The dude who first reviewed this game say's that Irem really knows their subs. Is he drunk?
There isn't a real sub in this.....it's a JOKE!
It's a toy for little kiddies.
Apparantly the other reviewer is having flashbacks to his bath tub days and toy subs swimming around shooting the soap bar. COME ON!
People rely on these reviews to help determine if the game's worth playing, much less BUYING. The review below is a perfect example of what's wrong with an "anybody can post" review site.
I'll be honest, this game is so stupid and poorly done (I mean gameplay to graphics) that it made me laugh.
Bottom line: Don't trust reviews and before you throw away your money on an unknown game, RENT IT!
You'll see what I mean........

Summary:
Man, the guys at Irem know their sub shooters. Their first foray into this sub-genre of shooter was in the arcade realm in the early 90s with the classic side-scroller In The Hunt. (side note: ITH is supported by MAME and was released for PS1, for those interested in checking it out)

Sub Rebellion takes ITH's 2D concept, brings it into a fully 3D environment and adds some incredibly clever gameplay innovations. The end result is a very fun game that has an exceptional balance of action and strategy. Sub Rebellion was also released as Underwater Unit in Japan, for those curious.
