Price Paid:  $20.00 from EB

Summary:
It is the year 1964, you are in a Japan that has been divided by the "Japan War", and there are AFWs (Armored Fighting Walkers) all over the freakin' planet. Is this a cheap rip-off of a Gundam type game? Absolutely not, this game is unique and holds little or no resemblance to anything like the Gundam series.

This game has a great story-line (too much at times, but thats never really a bad thing), a cool history to help support the setting, and eight well developed characters to help push the story along.

You start the game as Masami Von Weizegger, a short tempered German-Japanese guy who is testing out one of three new AFW prototypes for the South Japanese Military. Along with Masami comes Ryoko Minakawa, testing the second new AFW model. She tends to be sharp tongued and comes off as a bit unfriendly. What sets the story in motion is when the pilot of the third AFW, Takeshi Kaiho, turns out to be the North Japan Army's top AFW pilot. He steals the AFW; you attept to stop him; and the chase is on.

Summary:
I have played the following games: Tomb Raider, Dark Cloud, Evergrace, star wars, tony hawk, ... I borrowed this game from a friend. Simply put- I found this game very very boring. I got so bored I stopped playing after the 6th mission.

Price Paid:  $25.00 from EB

Summary:
One of the earilest game to be released on PS2 and still managed to keep its outragous price. If you're able to spot this game new at your local retail store, it may cost you up to $50. Or you may spot this game at EB or other game dedicated stores used around $25. Before you decide on buying this, do yourself a favor and buy this one used because I don't think it's worth that extra money. As for the game, it's based on part RPG, part Strategy game. It consists of turn-based 2D isometric mapping of battle field with realtime 3D battle sequences. If you're a fan of Mech and had enjoyed Front Mission 3 for PSX, this game is for you!

Price Paid:  $6.00 from I rented it at blockbuster

Summary:
When I first started up this game I had no clue what to expect. I had wanted to rent the Gundam Journey to Jaboru, but it was unavail =( so i picked up Ring of Red, a game that totally suprised me. In RoR, you play as Wei, a German-Japanese AFW (Armored Fighting Walker) test pilot. As you are doing some training with another storyline character, Ryoko, the "Crimson Phantom" (badguy) decides to steal a new AFW model. You ,of course, much chase him yourself through many strategic maps and battles...

Price Paid:  $50.00

Summary:
This an excellent, well designed game once you understand it, and THAT is going to take some time. This isn't a jump right in acion/adventure or FPS. This game is an involved strategy game that requires patience to get the full grasp of. But once you've done that, you should find yourself impressed by it and have an enjoyable time that you'll want to keep coming back to. This game does sink it's hooks into you.

I'm giving a score of 5 to the overall category, even though no other category by itself gets that grade, because, overall, I can't think of anything I didn't like about this game.
