UBI Soft Conflict Zone Strategy Review

UBI Soft Conflict Zone

Description
Conflict Zone is a classic real-time military strategy game with real-life consequences you’ve never seen before. This is modern warfare so you have television cameras trained on your every move. If citizens become outraged at your actions the military’s funding will go down, and you could lose your command. Play either single player or multiplayer campaigns, but plan your strategy carefully…they’re watching you!

Summary:
Conflict Zone is a very unique and engaging video game. A must for war stratagem fans! Good graphics, solid game play and interesting missions make it a steal for the price (under$20). If you can stick it out and take time to learn the complicated controls and nuances, you will love this game.

Summary:
I agree entirely with the previous review. The professional game reviewers hated it, but I loved it. If you liked Command & Conquer, you'll love this game. It's basically C&C on steroids. It's not perfect and it does has a few minor faults, the most notable being challenging control and also some slowdown when there are tons of units moving on the screen. Sometimes individual units will do dumb things, like a repair truck hanging out in the front lines during a tank battle. But there are no serious problems with this game. Don't waste any time, buy it now. It's the best real time strategy war game available for the PS2. I rate this game a 9 out of 10 (or 4 out of 5).

Summary:
WOW! I'm the first reviewer for this game!
Lets start...
I've heard a lot of people talking about this game being average. Look around the web, most sites give it around 5.0 to a 6.0. But, being that it is the only C&C style game for PS2, in my personal opinion that automatically gives it at least a 8.0 if not higher! Yes the game does have its drawbacks, but doesn't all? I mean the graphics are awesome, ( coming straight from N64). I've seen some screen shots from the new C&C Generals for PC, there's not much difference, really! Plus being able to zoom across the map at every 3D direction possible ( a major plus ), really gives the game a boost over your average C&C game (yeah, I'm talking about Tiberian Sun). But, at the same time feels and plays like a solid war strategy game. There's over 65 units ( including structures) for both sides.
And thankfully, both sides are playable. Yes, it does seem similar to the C&C series, that's why I think the French really had to come up with something new. And they did, like never before seen on PC or gaming console. Instead of getting a harvester and hauling around tiberiam and waiting for it to grow, you get the Press, the news, the TV coverage. Civilians in the game want to know what's going on, ( good or bad ). If it be helping the goodies, or fighting the baddies (ok, sounds a bit like "The Others" but who cares!) the people want to know! And from what they think about your work, that's how you'll get that mulua! They like grade your actions, and depending on how you do, get money. Fighting strategy is much more needed in this game as well, meaning, doing the same thing over will not win the game. The AI is smart, very smart, they learn, ( another big plus for this game! ) which makes this game even harder ( but really fun ). Also, the levels seem more in depth then in C&C ( I'm not downing C&C here ). There's so much to do, it really makes the game great. Plus having skirmish missions makes Conflict Zone almost unlimited with replay value. Untill PS2 releases something else along the line of modern war strategy, this game is tops in that department. And, untill then, this game will do just fine. Don't listen to these "professional reviewers" all over the web that act like Conflict Zone is a bad game, I really don't know where they get that from, I think they just need to stop comparing everything with C&C!! Anyway, last thing I'll mention are the generals. You can use these guys to do things you don't want to deal with. Have them take care of small battles while you sit back and build your barracks with no need to fly across the screen looking for the invading forces. There great to use, especially when your starting out building and stuff. So.... Graphics are good, sound is good, gameplay is solid, controlling guys kinda hard, but who ever said war was easy? If your even the least interested in a strategy game for PS2, don't let this game pass you by, it's got hours and hours of constant blowing-up action.
