Serious Sam is a high-adrenaline arcade-action shooter heavily focused on frantic arcade-style single player action. Summary:
Great game. I've been looking for a game to tie me over until Halo 2 and this is it. Bought it a few days ago and I can't put it down. Can't wait to see how the multi-link plays. Definitely in the top 5 of first person shooters for x-box. I like it better than Unreal Tournament (#6 in my rating meter).

Awesome game, I have both versions for the PC and decided to buy the xbox version for some good co-op play. Plus it's one of the cheapest games out there.

Wow! This game is really slick. It's like it came out of nowhere. Serious Sam ain't HALO, but this game is an all out blast-a-thon that's funny and easy to play.

Summary:
So far I truly enjoy this game. I bought a pre-played copy for 12 bucks at Blockbuster and am glad I did. This game takes me back to the "good old days" of Doom and Castle Wolfenstein where you find items, blow monsters away, then move on to the next level.
It may not sound like much, but the action and pace are addicting, and for those of us who started out with the first-generation FPS', this is a great title to pick up. Heck, almost any X-Box title is great to pick up for 12 bucks.
I found the levels replayable simply for the secrets. The games keeps stats and a score based on what you find, and what you kill per level. I try to max my score out, so that makes the game a bit more challenging. The secret areas can be tough to find.

Summary:
I'd agree with the reviewer below this one. Serious Sam is serious fun. Where games like Halo try to develop a storyline and add new elements to the first person shooter genre, Serious Sam is like sex without the foreplay - you skip all of the preliminaries and jump right into the action for the ride of your life. Don't judge this title by the first couple of levels! Get far into it before making ANY type of a judgment call. I too love titles like Halo, Enclave, Turok: Evolution, and Splinter Cell. Although the graphics aren't as polished as these titles, the gameplay is right up there with the best of them. I'll admit, I am hooked! My disc is one of the damaged ones you read about all over the net and I have had to replay a handful of levels due to errors, but I still have no choice but to love this game. It pounds you and pounds you until you think there can't possibly be more, but there is! Not for the strategist or people that prefer the "thinker man's shooter". This is an absolute outlet for aggression that is like a 25 hour roller coaster ride. Play on "normal" level at the very least and get prepared.
