Summary:
A great game, originally on the PC. Counter-Strike is the most played online FPS game I have seen. Counter-Strike for XBOX certainly does live up to the PC version.

Summary:
Not a hardcore gamer or ever played the PC version but have heard alot about it over the years. So when the Xbox version came out, I decided to try it out and see what all the hoop-la was all about.
In a nut-shell, it's a very simple concept game that is surprisingly addictive. There is not much more you can say about that. You pick a side, start from a "home-base" and play a seek and destroy until one side wins. Not much more to it then that. What I do like is, once you are dead, you are dead until the game is over and start all over again.
I will say, if you don't have Xbox Live, this game is not worth getting. Single player version is nothing more then a place to hone your aiming skills for online play. No missions involved, just get up and go type of play.
For Xbox Live, it's great, get to play with folks from all over the world and try real-time team tactics with people who are willing. Sucks playing against fools who hide in corners and tap you out with a headshot as you look for them. Oh well, whatever it takes to win I guess...just not my style.
No Xbox Live? Skip it and rent it to check it out.
Xbox Live? I think it's worthy addition, practice alot though, you will die early and fast when first starting out.

Price Paid:  $50.00 from Funcoland

Summary:
The game is basically like the original one for PC. So basically if you liked that one you will love the version for the Xbox. There are new maps and even some new guns. There are also new characters. Even the old maps look better. If you know the map dust, you will see a huge improvement. The graphics are a lot better also. So basically if you liked the PC version, you will absolutley love the xbox version.

Summary:
Counter strike is quite an amazing game.Originally developed by a couple of teens as a free mod for the PC game Half life it blew open the doors on the multiplayer arena.I myself have spent untold hours playing the pc version and consider myself an adept player.I also believe I have a keen eye for quality.
Since the first few hours playing CS I knew that the game just felt right and never inna game has my heart pounded so much, even after all these years.
So here we have it The Xbox version. How could this game be enjoyable with a controller was my first question.Being that the mouse keyboard setup is ideal for fist person shooters.
Many of my initial preconcieved thoughts about how this conversion would survive are adressed and I must say noone is more surprized than myself.
The things I would have liked to see:
Bindable controller keys(standard layout is confining )
More controller sensitivity options.(seems either too sensitive or too unresponsive)
