Summary:
First off, let me start off by saying that I use to love playing Gauntlet in the arcades. So of course, when I got the Xbox, one of my first games was Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Yes it is better than the arcades version but really, this game is not good. There is absolutely no skill needed for this game. Let me say that one more time, there is absolutely no skill needed for this game. Compare to the arcade version where if you didn't play the game right, you'd be going through a pocket full of quarters pretty rapidly.

Summary:
I thought this Gauntlet game was going to be nice. For petes sake, its a Gauntlet game. However, the Gauntlet days have come and gone since the early days of Nintendo. I was hoping to revive memories of those glory days but I have now come to terms that its over! So I returned it and didn't even wanna look at it again...

Price Paid:  $5.00 from rented

Summary:
Based on the 1985 arcade release, gauntlet has seen many descendants, updates and sequels until we finally reach Dark Legacy, the newest gauntlet game released by Midway. Unfortunately, like many retro revivals, the game suffers in many areas, despite attempts at making it look and feel newer and cleaner. The games story line is almost completely unnecessary and offers no surprises at all and is your classic medieval hero battles the evil wizard cliché. The control scheme is easy to get use to but battling becomes fairly boring once you’ve been playing for a while, and while there are eight different characters, each with his or her own strengths and vulnerabilities, playing it through with one character rather than another, offers almost the same gaming experience. Bottom Line: Rent it and only if you either like the gauntlet series a lot or need an OK 4 person coop game(the four player experience is, in my opinion ,the only thing that saves this game).

Summary:
i have played previous versions of past gauntlet games and in my opinion this is the best one yet.i have the xbox version and havent played the ps2 version, but i assume they are the same. this is a very good game so far, it sticks to the older versions but adds a new aspect and dimension to the game. considering xbox doesnt have any (or few) of this tpe of game i think it is exellent, especially if you are a fan of the previous versions.

Price Paid:  $50.00 from Game Stop

Summary:
I played Gauntlet on the PS2 with my wife and children and had a lot of fun with it although once we finished the game I had no intrest in playing it ever again and the only reason we finished was because my wife liked it so much. I guess it was neat to see what level was next but it is very repetitive. Gauntlet is a rental game... Don't waste your money unless you need to keep the wife happy! I hope you feel sorry for me because I have to play this crap till the end again. Save your money for Hunter the Reckoning.. it sounds much better.
