Summary: After having waited what seems like forever, I finally have the long awaited sequel to 2 of my favorite games of yesteryear! TJ&E are back!!! Toejam & Earl fans rejoice!! New fans hop on board one of the zaniest, innovative and most fun games to be had in recent memory! This is why we play games in the first place! To have fun!!! Don't believe what you've read on those other sites or magazines that rip on this title. They are to busy dogging this game because it's 'not funny' or 'the music seems outdated' IDIOTS!!!! If they were to focus on the game, it's originality, or its fun factor then maybe (if they were smart enough) they would give it the higher scores that it deserves!!! Therefore it is your mission (and mine) to inform the uninformed and the mislead that in a sea of Tony Hawks, Tekken's and Blood/Gore/Violence games, that this game stands out from the crowd and is a perfect example of why we play videogames in the first place... to have FUN!!! Your mission in this game is to retrieve the 12 albums of funk which are strewn across some 30 huge and incredibly detailed levels. Gameplay consists of showing the earthlings the ways of funk, collecting keys and points, finding the albums through exploration, and mastering the many presents you obtain. Similar in play to the original TJ&E (which is a good thing) exploration is the heart of the game. You can 'funkify' earthlings in many different ways from 'funk-fu' to funkify notes that you shoot at them. In turn you will gain points and money that is used to power yourself up(like an rpg), and buy presents or pay the toll to pass through certain gates. One of the most fun aspects of the game are the presents which you find, are given to you, or you can buy through mail order. Food, power ups, money and points are to be had in these gifts, but watch out for the occasional bad present or unidentified present(which carrot man can identify for you) remember him? All the classic presents are here from the first game including the rocket skates, spring shoes, and icarus wings(my favorite!) So 'funkify those earthlings, grab that money, power yourself up, master those presents, and don't eat the moldy cheese!!!
Summary: This game was better than I predicted because I just wanted a quick, funny, party game. Turns out that this is now one of my favourite games and I will be happy to keep this for a long time.
Summary: As a person who loved the orginal Toe Jam and Earl, I found this version disappointing. Intially I like the music and the moves of the players, but as the game progressed I was less than impressed.
Summary: Step Back, because I'm going to give this game all fives. Don't write me off because of that. Every so often a game comes along that deserves it, and if ever one did TJ&E3 deserves a solid 5/5. It's not that the game is perfect in every aspect, it's that what it does well, it does so well you have to catch your breath. It is a tribute to the idea that games are for having fun. It is a fresh cool wind of originality in an industry that has forgotten what that means. It is probably the best two player cooperative game ever made. If you're getting tired of the same old violent non-original stuff, and you have a sense of humor, a love of funky music, an appreciation for things that are off-the-wall, then you'd better drop what you're doing and check out this game. Even as I speak, I can't wait to go back and play some more. Take it from me, it's a total kick.
Summary: Well here is a game that many gave as a high rating. You probably heard this alot that this game is strictly for ppl that loved TJ and E one. This is really true and you should at least rent before you buy IF YOU AREN'T A FAN. When I bought this game I was a big fan of TJ and E two and I thought it would be good. It was, but for a short time that is. Even the loving for the second installment of TJ and E two was still not enough to enjoy this game for many hours to come. Another thing that fooled me in buying the game was the publisher "SEGA" In my opinion sega makes really good games, but this is not one of them. It was hard for me to get a good 10 hours of gameplay out of this. Anyway overall TJ and E three had it's good points, but was missing arguably the two most significant components and that was gameplay and replayability. I didn't add the cost since every new game cost around 49$ US.
