Summary:
This is a great fighting game. It's almost better than Virtua Fighter. That takes a lot. But, it is still a good game.

Price Paid:  $18.00 from Costco

Summary:
This very solid game. The best fighting game I've ever played as far as graphics and moves go, and I've been playing since SNES. There's a small amount of plot for each of the characters (I believe there are 17 total), but this game mainly shines as a party game. It includes options like coming in kicking spinning, etc in tag mode. This game's multi-player rivals HALO, something I can't say of many games. For the single player value, this game is probably worth the money, but you could get better games for the same price (Splinter Cell, for example). What makes this game is that it has one of the best multiplayer's I've ever seen. And its not a button masher, as many people across the web have called it. The game requires a knowledge of what your characters strengths are (speed/power, kick/punch/grab/counter).

Price Paid:  $20.00 from Wal-Mart

Summary:
I this game because it has so many fighting techniques as well as styles. This is a game that you would need to practice for hours and hours to become a qualified fighter in the game. I would recommend this game to all of you fighting gamers out there. This game would match up to any Camcom game, and if not better.

Summary:
Anyone who considers DOA to be the best fighter can have their logic derailed by one simple word: Omega. I'm giving this a 1/5 for the simple reason that any game that creates the uber-stupid character of Genra/Omega deserves it. This insipidly lame character single-handedly destroys the story mode because you dread the stupidity that it is to fight him. All of his moves are "cheat" moves requiring no skill or talent. If he had one, he would be considered broken, and he has seven or eight that he cycles through stupidly. And, it requires simple luck to beat him; no skill. Just get through his stupid ranged attacks and mash punch until he dies. HOW COOL!!!! I bought this game as a platinum hit, but it still cost me $50. Why? Because of the controller I broke out of frustration over the sheer stupidity that is Omega. Otherwise, this game is fine for multiplayer. I wouldn't consider it as deep a game as Tekken, Soul Calibur, or Virtua Fighter, but it easily the best looking game if that matters to you. Without Omega, this game is 4/5. Yes, he's THAT lame.
