A great game to play…when it runs. Maybe it's my first-production-run Thompson DVD drive to blame, but I had constant crashes and lockups that necessitated many, many reboots and even, in some cases, cache-clearing maneuvers. Once you do get it running, it's fun to see how well the game plays on a console and big-screen tv. Gameplay loses little in the porting process and the graphics are quite impressive. The ability to play the game without having to mess with "Steam" is a big plus, too. Overall, it might be better to plan to play this game on a 360, whose system specs can (presumably) handle the Source engine code much better than the existing XBox. It remains to be seen if MS will release the required emulator patch…. Report this review >>
