Summary:
This is the best platformer I've ever played on either the xbox or the Playstation 2. It even beats the still prestigious Mario 64 by wide margins, which none of the other platformers can claim in my opinion with the possible exception of Ratchet and Clank. Also to note, this is a review of the Xbox version of Ty.

Having played through such great titles as Ratchet & Clank (ps2), Jaks & Daxter (ps2), Vexx (xbox), Mario 64 (N64)....and also having played Blinx Time Sweeper (an xbox game which is not so great), I've seen a lot of both good and bad in 3d platform games.

This game is pure quality on every level and features some of the funnest gameplay and most adventurous and expansive environments I've ever before seen. I own some 20 xbox games, and can say this game is only second to Halo, and I even say that with reservation because in many respects it's better than Halo since the game doesn't stagnate or seem to get repetitive because there's so much to do.

The concept in Ty is great. You’re a Tasmanian tiger living in the outback of Australia. Your weapons include your teeth and numerous boomerangs you'll acquire in different ways.

I would say of all the platform games, this comes the closest to Mario 64 in the way the game is laid out. Each world has multiple objectives. In Mario 64 you earned stars for completing objectives. In Ty you'll earn Thunder Eggs. These are needed to gain access to other worlds. However, in each level in Ty there are numerous other items to find which can be used to get better boomerangs, etc.

The entire world in this game is large and exciting. This is a game that you'll experience, not just play. I'm going to repeat my opening statement again, this is the greatest 3d-platform game, in my opinion, ever made.
