Summary: Very scary when you play alone at night.... This game doesn't have scare pop-ups like resident evil series... but its atmospheres and sounds scare the heck out of you...
Summary: I owned this game on PS2, then sold it. I've since purchased an Xbox, and wanted to have SH2 in my library (to replay when I get number 3)along with the new scenario. Since I sold the original game, I've probably spent a total of $35 on Silent Hill 2, which doesn't strike me as too bad.
I've got to say, intially I was kind of peeved that Konami didn't just put the extra scenario on the PS2 disc, or release it for PS2. It would have made a nice unlockable, to give gamers an incentive to play or replay the original game.
Summary: Wow, what an experience. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. This game is stongly driven by the story and if you don'y buy into the story, than you probably won't enjoy it. If you do like the story, you won't want to put the game down until you finish. I found myself playing this game not for any of the action itself, but to keep the story moving (read some of the other reviews for the basic plot). Tremendous replay value as there are several endings. I actually played through the game again (which I never do) to see additional endings - well worth the time and effort. As stated by a previous reviewer, you really shouldn't review this game unless you play it to the end. I highly reccomend it. It felt like a horror movie and I was controlling the lad character.
Summary: This is hands down one of the best games I have ever played. Silent Hill 2 is everything a survival horror game should be. It is dark, creepy, disturbing, and VERY scary, especially if played in the dark. The graphics, sound, and story are all top-notch. The multiple endings add enormous amounts of depth and encourage you to replay the game. Be prepared to be scared out of your witts!
