Price Paid:  $3.00 from Rented from Blockbusters

Summary:
For nostalgia value and "feel" the game is excellent. It sets the tone well, the music is typical Indiana Jones style with all the "uh oh, somthing bad's about to happen" touches to it. The voice is fantastic, it's almost an exact copy of Harrison Ford's. A fun little game for a short amount of time.

Summary:
Overall this is a very good game, not great, but still good. I would have to say this is a must have for any Indy fan. The controls/puzzles are good and the sound is very good, however the graphics are the weakest part of this game. I would not pay $40-$50 for this game.

Price Paid:  $40.00 from EB ( which is Game in the uk !)

Summary:
Well, having read the previous reviews, a lot of which slate this game, I felt I had to intervene. This game is simple to get into, easy to progress through and made both me and my son smile when we heard the familiar indiana jones theme. We both really enjoyed the fighting, which seemed
' typically Indy' , and essentially this is a tomb raider game but with Dr Jones instead.
Lets not all forget the reason of a video game....

GOOD FUN

It seems to be all the rage to be sarcastic about games, but they still get played. If ya like Tomb Raider you'll like this...if you didn't you won't; simple....go and play a Madden game instead !

Price Paid:  $6.00 from blockbuster

Summary:
Indiana Jones & Emperors Tomb for XBOX is a game that technically has a lot of faults, but at the same time is a very fun "breezy" game to play. For some reason, the developer felt compelled to release this game despite a myriad of technical issues. This is a multiplayer game and it shows through and through, there is no doubt the strains of making a game for all the consoles and the PC, prevented the developer from focusing on one platform and delivering a game that could have been much better. The most obvious is clipping, when walking on solid surfaces, like stone, it appears as if your walking in quick sand, feet not visible. The textures in the game are just awful and very bland, yet at the same time the game excels with its use of water and animations, at least those of the main character. Sound stuttering and volume inconsistency is another prevalent problem. Often before and after a cut-scene audio popping and stuttering will occur, and frequent dramatic increases in volume.
The general style of the game will also be a problem for some people. This game is very easy, to me in a refreshing way. The action is fast pace and the levels are very well thought out, so moving along in the game is quick and not frustrating. The levels aren't small however, in fact, some are quite large and immense. But the physical lay-out and architecture is well done, so much so that for a platforming 3-D game, the frustration level is very low. In fact, the platforming is actually fun, which is in stark contrast to most recent platforming games. Combat is almost identical to Buffy, not surprising considering the team behind Buffy is also behind this game. There are some differences, Buffy focused on martial arts, Indy uses the old one, two, followed with some body blows and a kick or two. Indy can also grab people and rough 'em up, he can also do a shoulder launch attack. These follows the theme of the movie very well, no one expect Indy to do Buffy type moves. Also, as in Buffy, Indy can pick up various objects from shovels, to chairs, bottles, and go at the enemy WWF style. Indy can also use his whip to beat down Nazi's, along with pistols, machine guns, grenades. Indy can pick up the weapons his enemies drop, but the enemies can also pick up all of Indies weapons except his whip and pistol, and hat of course. Fighting is generally not a problem, though I must say when you get to Instanbul, the fighting skills of the enemies ramp up quite a bit. Fortunately, Indy can take a swig of water or pop a medi-kit to heal himself.
The puzzles in the game are also "breezy." The puzzles all make sense so much so, some may call them simple. But, I think the game takes a different approach from the puzzles you find typically in videogames, that have gamers resorting to strategy books and websites for tips. The puzzles aren't designed to slow down game play, but are still an integral part of the game, as the mainly enable access to parts of the environment Indy must reach. The game is very much designed with the feel that you can just pick up the controller and breeze through with very little trial and error or controller bashing fits of frustration. The game just moves along.
This, undoubtedly, will detract other gamers expecting a more laborous effort. Some gamers come to expect hair-pulling puzzles that make no sense and have generally nothing to do with the overall game. Some gamers expect almost impossible platform jumps, and boss battles where there is only one way or one move that must be discovered through trial and error before you can defeat the boss. These gamers will be disappointed with this game.
Overall, the good outweigh the bad. I rented the game and finished it, therefore I would not recommend buying the game. But I do think its is worth playing because it is fast and more importantly fun. The game does some things right, such as fantastic swimming environments and great animation(Indy can do just about everything Sam Fischer can) and great fighting. I think these traits over come the bland graphics, clipping and audio problems, and general easy nature of the game. I'd also say if you liked Buffy, you will probably enjoy this game too. I'd give Indy a 7/10, 70%.

Summary:
I'm just about done now, and I've had a great time playing this game. It does help that this is my favourite kind of game. Adventure, Quest or action, whatever you want to call it. This game has lots of variety of gameplay so I never got bored, but somone needs a big spanking for letting this get out before it was "finished". There really is no excuse for skipping framrates and skipping sountrack. It's all there, but there's no pollish as people like to say. It should have been great, we'll have to settle for good. Shame I can't give it anything higher than a three. It's not good enough for four.
