Summary:
A flawed yet compelling game. By far the battle mechanics of this game will test your patience more than most. What keeps you playing is the great atmosphere and sound as this games compels you to forge ahead.

Summary:
I haven't beaten the game yet, but this is a very scary game. It makes Silent Hill appear to be a Christian game. Just the mere fact that your in a haunted mansion with ghost is scary, but when there is no music, no lights, and no knowlede when some ghost will come throught the walls and attack you, it's mind boggling! The FMVs are freaky as hell and the sight of ghosts who seem to walk around when your awareness is high is enough to give you a heart attack. If you want to play a REAL scary game, play this one. And don't try to play the game during the day to minimize the fear factor. I've already done that. It doesn't work.

Summary:
This title has a very original premis for a survival horror game, but falls flat due to some major gameplay flaws. I would not recommend this game for even the most die hard fans of the genre.

Summary:
This game is awsome, it has to be one of the best looking games ive played. The story line to the game is original although i think more creativity could have helped the games originality it stil is original. I cant believe it took this long for any game system to bring the concept of ghosts into a game. Im sure there are other games with ghosts in them but this is the first to have ghosts as the main enemy in the game. Im also surprised it took this long because horror survival games have been out for a long time and these days ghosts are really starting to scare people in movies so you would think they would have made a horror survival game with ghosts in it a long time ago. This game mainly works so well because its so damn scary this is by far the scariest game I have ever played. The ghost concept was very scary and worked in the games favor big time. Everyones been so used to zombies or vampires in horror games that there not all that scary anymore hopefully now with this game more games like it will be made. Hopefully a game will come out with a very creepy serial killer subplot or maybe sharks or something because the zombie, vampire, creature thing is starting to get old they need different survial horror games so the genre dosent get tiring.

, from Oregon

Price Paid:  $50.00 from Frys

Summary:
When I heard about this game and started reading reviews, I had tremendous hopes. I am a fan of ghost stories and thought the whole concept was highly interesting, which it is. The style, mood, and atmosphere of the game is superb. However, the game is completely RUINED by the horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE combat system. This is by far the worst implementation of a combat system of any game I have ever played. That includes Silent Hill, hell, even old Atari games had better combat that this. In the end, it will frustrate you as, through little fault of your own, you will die over and over and over and over to the cheap AI tactics of the ghosts and realize that this is in fact a very poor game dressed up to provide some decent scares. Gameplay is my overriding criteria for overall scoring, hence the low score.
