Summary: Overall this game is pretty great. I like the game alot but there are alot of things that detract from this game. I remember playing games like Nascar 99 and 2001 on PS1, and its amazing how far the games have gone, from racing with an 18 car field, and only 10 of the tracks. This game is great with that factor. A full 43 car field and all tracks plus a few goodie tracks. I like the effort there. Also extra cars like Busch drivers, fantasy drivers, and Dale Earnhardt. One thing I expecially love is the extra paint schemes, you can get Jeff Gordon's Pepsi car to Robby Gordon's reverse out orange car, but you do have to unlock them. Aside from the extra paint schemes you can get infield fantasy tracks and night tracks, at places like Atlanta, Darlington, and my favorite the road courses. Wait until this game goes on sale and grab it.
Summary: I really enjoyed Nascar Thunder 2002, but this game blows last year's version away. Graphics, sound, handling, career mode and customizability are so greatly improved that I can't even force myself to play the 2002 version. My two biggest complaints with 2002 were that body damage didn't slow down your car and that yellow flags took too long. Both items were fixed perfectly.
Summary: This is a great game. The single player career mode is very fun, and the multiplayer is even better. There are countless items to unlock, such as car paint jobs, tracks, and even classic drivers. My personal favorite mode is the multiplayer season mode. You can have upto 4 players competing in a season for the best ranking and the most money earned. A great feature. It also has a custom sound track (limited to 20 songs), which is a good feature. It can be used during the menu's, or in the game. Though it is very nice to say I find it more fun to race without the music and keep the music only in the menu's. The design a car feature is very nice too. Lots of paint jobs available, and more to be unlocked by beating challenges.
I must also say that I was not a real fan of NASCAR when I bought this. Nor was I a fan of games made by EA. But I must admit, this game deserves more respect than anyone gives it. This game's replay factor is endless. The career mode goes on for 20 consecutive seasons, and is very fun.
Overall a very strong game. I highly recommend it to fans of NASCAR, and even to those who don't like the sport.
Summary: I am not a big fan of EA sports games in general. However, EA really put together a good sim this time. I am used to playing the Papyrus games for the PC, which I think really set the bar high for realism. This game comes close to the level of realism in Paprus, but has a better fun factor. The career mode is fantastic.
Summary: Ok---I've driven beyond my first year in Career Mode in this 2003 editon and I also owned and loved last year's version so I feel qualified too finally review this latest edition.
