Price Paid:  $6.00 from BB rental

Summary:
A weak, uninspired, and sub-par Gauntlet style hack and slash game. There's nothing wrong with a good fantasy hack and slash game, particularly one that offers multiplayer, but this is not a good game. It lacks any distinguishing features, charm, originality, or even compelling game play to give it any worth whatsoever. You will find that the game gets really hard for single players (requiring that you return to previous levels to simply gain continues and cash to try again at the harder levels), but that with two or more players, the game's a snap. There's no compelling story, not that you need one in a game like this, but it never hurts. The enemies and character designs are lackluster, though I will say they at least offer variety, which is nice. Overall, however, this is a game that doesn't offer anything new to the genre and doesn't offer more than a limited window of interest for even fans of that genre. There are much better games of this type out there; I would recommend them first and this one only as a rental if you're desperate for some multiplayer time-wasting.

Summary:
Any of those who have played Gauntlet will understand the fundamental premise of this game. As well, your appreciation and/or disgust will also be based on your experience with the Gauntlet Arcade style RPG. In summary, this game has its plus and minuses which balance it out to fall in the realm of mediocre.
