Summary:
If there are any Ace Combat fans out there who have yearned for a similar thrill on the X-Box, you're just in luck. While there are no mach-speed "Tomcats" or "Migs" to be found here, the authentic WWII "prop" planes deliver much more gameplay fun than the typical "fire and forget" air combat games out there. Imagine yourself in the Battle of Britain in your beloved Spitfire going wing to wing with the vile Luftwaffe. Sooooo, if you giggled with delight when you first watched "The Memphis Belle" or swooned in your loveseat while watching "Pearl Harbor," I think you'll be in for a real treat. Now, get into that P-51 Mustang and give the Nips a sound thrashing!

Summary:
Once there was a time when you could make a game featuring aircraft without people automatically assuming its a simulator of some kind. SWON is very much harking back to those days of yore with its high action gameplay and forgiving controlls. Great graphics, sound and mission design make this an extremely enjoyable experience whether you a hard core simmer wanting a break from the high workload of Lock-on, or a casual gamer looking for something other than the usual FPS garbage. Thoughtfully, theres also loads of information available in-game on the various aricraft and many mission are (loosely) based on real world events and battles during WWII so its even mildly educational. Given how easy it is for games of this type to become hopelessly dull and repetetive, I really can't give enough credit to the games designers, Lucasarts, and hope they continue to produce many more quality games in a similar vein.
