Summary:
First off I own over 20 of the very best games the xbox has to offer, and over 200 PC games and have a very high end computer (2.2 p4 northwood, Geforce 4 ti 4600, 512 rambus, Iiyama 22' monitor, etc.). I also own a PS2 with over 17 games on that system. I think I'm qualified to differentiate between good games and bad ones.

Blood Wake is one of the best games I've ever played in terms of playability, graphics, story-line, and pure fun. This game should be receiveing 5 stars across the board the game is just awsome.

It seems that people either hate or love BW. I like it and think it's a lot of fun. Definitely worth $20.

Summary:
This game really shows that blowing boats with massive amounts of firepower can be a lot of fun. Single player mode is addicting and gets very challenging. Multiplayer is also a lot of fun, especially with 4 people. Control could have used some tweaking, but overall a really good game. It doesn't get near the respect it deserves.

Summary:
Earlier this year, I played a demo of Blood Wake on one of the OXM's demo's. I had wanted to play this game since I seen the commercial and I was happy when it was on one of my demos. After playing the demo I wasn't really all that interested in the game anymore. Then a few weeks ago, I got it new for $15 just for the sake of getting a game. While I didn't care for the demo, I liked the actual game. Find out why.

Story

You play as Shao Kai, a lieutenant in the Northern League who's fleet was attacked and destroyed by your brother. You were found by the Shadow Clan who rescued you only if you'd join them. The Shadow Clan fights against the Jade Kingdom and the Iron Empire who are also enemies of each other. Now you must be brought into this war and get revenge on your brother for attacking your fleet.

Summary:
I would disagree with the reviews on this site that put down this game. In a way, I'm thankful, as my expectations were low when I picked this one up a few days ago, and I ended up pleasantly surprised. I think peoples' expectations are too high. In my opinion, Blood Wake accomplishes what it sets out to do. READ THE BOX! "High Speed Gunboat Warfare". From my vantage point, that's exactly what you get! People talk about how it's lame that you "can't get out of the boat"???!?? These people must suffer from mild retardation, as there's no claim that this is an FPS! ! ! Why do I like this game so much more than the majority??? Maybe it can be attributed to my THX DD 5.1 Surround system that puts me in the middle of the action. Maybe it's my Sony 36" WEGA Trinitron that provides a perfect picture. Maybe it's the fact that the $15 I spent on this title is a drop in the bucket relative to my healthy six figure income. I can't tell you the exact reason, maybe it's a combination of all three, but the bottom line is that this game rocks! ! !
