CMR 04 is arguably the X-Box's best value at the moment. For a measly $20 you can get a racing game that's as good as the latest releases of Project Gotham and Need for Speed, with graphics equal to those of RalliSport Challenge. The gameplay is varied and will appeal both to someone who wants a protracted "career"-style Championship mode, as well as to someone who simply wants to sit down and run through a stage or two in the half-hour before dinner. Most X-Box owners with some experience with racing games can handle the 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive portions of the game without too much trouble. However, the difficulty does ramp up steeply in the group B portion of the game and here CMR 04 may lose some appeal to all but the most hardcore of Rally fans. But overall, this is a game every X-Box owner should have in their collection. Report this review >>
