Summary: Looks like football...Sounds like football...Feels like football...This IS football! I flat-out loved last years version, but NCAA 2004 trumps it. The graphics are enhanced, the tackling animations are more realistic, and other intangibles have been tweaked to give gamers a genuine collegiate athletic experience. I read the rheteric of other reviewers who think a game has to be completely overhauled in order to warrant one's spending fifty bucks. Guess what? Neither I nor a bunch of other gamers want a radically different game from year to year! NCAA 2003 was fantastic and minor adjustments were made to make 2004 even more worthy of praise. A sports game should make one feel as though (s)he is actively involved in each and every game, and NCAA 2004 delivers.
Summary: Well this is basically the same game as last year with a VERY small upgrade. The graphics look the same to me, the stadiums look the same, and the gameplay feels the same except for the playaction fake ones. Overall, another semi upgrade by EA and alot of money spent by us.
Summary: Since all of the positives and most of the few negatives have been discussed, I think I will give some suggestions to EA for next years version, which I will definitely buy.
For those who say this game isn't much better than last year, I would have to disagree strongly.
Whoever is to blame, we need NCAA online next year, I wish these rich bastards would stop farting around and get the deal done!
Summary: Nobody seems to want to say it, but I will. This game is great but also has a lot of down points. Don't get me wrong NCAA 2004 is awesom, but there are some things that will just drive you crazy. Then again there are things that will bring a smile to your face. Some subtle, some are really noticable. EA added a new mode college classics where you take over a situation, and see what you can do, and they also added, which I think is the best upgrade from last year Sports Illustrated covers. It is really neat, every week you get a cover with a big story on it, and some pages on things like top 25, Heisman watch, players of the week, ect. Its really cool to see when one of your players/team makes the cover. Im currently playing a dynasty with Wyoming, as we all know they suck, but I made the cover and it was so cool. I agree with the reviewer 2 reviews down, EA Bio is scary. Also lots more teams and mascots.
Summary: The best football game to date. If you are itching for football Saturdays, NCAA 2004 is the cure. With new additions, improved graphics and, most importantly, gameplay, NCAA 2004 may be the best football game released this year. Although no on-line play for X-Box, that doesn't detract from this great product. If you love college football you will love this game. GO BUY IT!!
